One of the most under-rated songs of the 80's, unheard of by most of you because about two weeks after it was released as a single, Blondie released another single that you might have heard of: "Call Me".

I only learned this feature recently. I've seen others do it for...well, probably years... I figured I should try to figure out how they did it. It had to be one of the two links you see when clicking on the globe... And it ends up being the HIGHLIGHTED one... D'oh!!

[80s trivia nerd] Did you know they wrote "How Will I Know" and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" for Whitney Houston? They also presented this song to her, but she turned it down. [/80s trivia nerd]

My kids were little during the 80's; I missed a lot of the music and movies, but there were some great TV shows. Some of my favorites:
Cheers, Newhart, Golden Girls, LA Law, Murphy Brown, Night Court, Spenser for Hire, Poirot, St. Elsewhere, Wiseguy, Wonder Years, The Cosby Show, Designing Women, and two amazing miniseries, Brideshead Revisited and Lonesome Dove.
I don't watch nearly so much TV these days, and hardly any network series.
I loved LA Law!
I voted in my first presidential election, turned 21, graduated from college and moved into my first apartment during the 1980s so I have special affection for the decade. While the fashions may have been questionable a lot of the decade's pop culture will stand the test of time, imo. "Dallas" and "Knots Landing" were on TV. "Brideshead Revisited" the mini-series for the more highbrow TV viewer. Some wonderful pop songs like "Billie Jean" by MIchael Jackson and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen. It was a wonderful time to be a young adult, imo.
I agree. I don't know if my perception is colored by the fact that I was young (16 in 1980), but my son is 15 now and it seems like the teen culture was much more optimistic and innocent then than it is now.
