And I take it neither does she.
I don't think she's planning on it, and even if she is, likely some young teenager will skate better at nationals and get the spot instead of her a la Fumie Suguri this year. I just think 26 almost 27 is a little old for a female skater to be at her peak, but what do I know, and maybe Alissa could be the first. It would be different if she lived in a less competitive country where she would be more likely to make the team, but extending her career another 4 years for the mere possibility of finally making an olympic team at her age....unless she really, really loves skating, I don't see it happening.

From what I've always read, she really, really loves skating.

Well that's good then, because we all know she's had more than her fair share of frustrations through the years, coming so close to making the olympic team twice and missing, messing up at worlds both times she went, etc. At least she has a US title under her belt. She's been skating for over 20 years though (started when she was 1 1/2 ), which is pretty cool. I like her lackback spin it's perfect and at least she always does that well even when she falls a lot on jumps.

I love to watch her skate even when she falls she smiles. You can tell she loves the sport.
I do not like the reference to Tiger Woods and his golf swing however! Could she not have found a better analogy!
