Joubert might be out of Cup of China. Back problems

Amodio just posted on facebook that he will be working with his old coach Bernard Glesser whenever he is in France to "rediscover his love for skating". No update on how he will split his time between Moscow and France though.
Joubert's had no luck whatsoever health-wise in recent years. Assuming he drops out of CoC, this will be the fifth straight year in which he doesn't do the GPF (counting the midway WD in 2008-9). I hope he'll recover quickly and do well the rest of the way.
If I had just finished 9th in a weak SA and seen my former training mate shatter his PB to finish ahead of two world champions (SP only, but still) I'd feel the need to rediscover my love for skating, too.
Very good news, regardless of what motivated it. Morozov got Amodio to be more consistent, but made him much less appealing.
He's not leaving Morozov.
It's just he won't be next to dear old mummy Annick anymore.
At least, when he was working with both Glesser and Morozov, there were a lot of good stuffs coming out ... Annick on the other hand ...
Because you know me ?![]()

Wasn't Brian supposed to be skating at the gala in Nice with Denkova/Staviski ?
Alban is doing some commentary for Eurosport France. Sounds like he has moved on from the competitive scene and is enjoying his new life!
Philippe Pélissier and Géraldine Pons (and Alban) for the Ladies at Skate Canada right now. Before that it was Philippe Pélissier and Richard Sette.
Florent Amodio posted this on his Facebook page Friday evening and also had it on his Twitter feed:
The gist of it is that he wants to get back his old (high) marks and his love of skating by spending some time with Bernard Glesser and his team in Cergy, while continuing to work with Morozov.
It looks like he posted that before Javier Fernández's Short Program at Skate Canada. I wonder how he feels now.![]()
Any updates on Joubert's status for Cup of China this week?
ETA to add link to a Joubert interview published today (10/31) -- it sounds like he plans to be in China: http://web.icenetwork.com/news/artic...&vkey=ice_news

Today's news: Joubert withdraws
http://www.lanouvellerepublique.fr/res/Toutes-les-DMAs
I think the IN story was probably based on an interview done a few weeks ago, despite the way it was phrased. I don't get the sense it's a serious injury, since he is still planning to do TEB - but a long flight is really not the best thing for any back injury.
It's official,Brian withdrawed...
It's a pityespecially many fans go to COC to support him...he's very famous in China among skating fans...
btw,Jinlin Guan withdrawed too...now only 8 skaters on the list...
