Brief update on Florent Amodio. He arrived in Japan Thursday and is now in Fukuoka (South of Japan), close to the coast. They havent' received any shocks for now, but he wasn't sure they were in the clear saying "we'll see if it calmed down."

Joubert will replace the 3Lz with 3F in his SP in Tokyo and plans two 4T and two 3A in his FS. He's had left knee pain since December ("blood clots lodged in the ligament," according to Google Translate) and will have surgery in June.
two 4T and two 3A in one FS! cool!!!

btw, somebody translated the article in English here, big thanks:

Thanks for the link Let`s talk. About what the translator was unsure about in the French text : 1 - Joubert says he has lost weight, yes. 2 - "infiltration" means injection.

In French "infiltration" is a medical procedure that consists in injecting a drug (usually anti-inflammatories or hyaluronates against osteo-arthritis) directly in the damaged body part. The inconvenient is sometimes it hurts like hell, the advantage is the drug effect is quicker and better targeted.

Ice dancers Zo Blanc and Pierre-Loup Bouquet have announced their official retirement. Although it's far from being a surprise, I was hoping they'd stay one more year, they are by far the "voidiest" ice dancers I've ever seen. I really love their programs.

    Oh no!

I wouldn't call them the voidiest ice dancers ever, but they had some of the voidiest programs since the CoP. I really loved watching them and won't forget them!

It's understandable that they don't want to continue if they can't make the Euros or Worlds team any more. I wish they could represent Monaco or something! Of course this is a selfish idea. Country-hopping is not so simple for everyone.

It was their 2005-06 program. The music was let the sun shine in. They were junior skaters and skated at the French masters and nationals. The videos have to be out there.

    No B&B, no K&K, no F&S.
For B&Bs retirement, only one word in French, starting with M and ending with E.

Yeah If only P&B and I&K can resurrect their voids next year. That's seriously the only possible hope. At least they skate like ice dancers, I can't say the same for much of anyone else

    I'm surprised and devastated.

The world has now one less void.

But yes, not a huge surprise and probably for the best unfortunately. C&J are getting beaten by the Germans and even the Czechs, so qualifying three teams for worlds next year seems borderline, and France has some decent junior teams coming up so it was only a matter of time before B&B were bumped off the podium.

I will always appreciate the fact that they were one of the few teams that had fully choreographed, original, unique programs every season and did something completely different every year. Not just different music, but a completely different style of movement.

Definitely one of my personal favorite teams of all time and still one of my favorite CoP FD's ever. 2008/2009 -Grand Corps Malade

Pierre-Loup is also and underrated hottie.

It's from a junior FD to "Let the Sunshine In". It was a total mess technically, but even back then they had major voids.

    Found it.

I wish Blanc & Bouquet had a thread of their own.

I believe Blanc&Bouquet's coach and choreographer, Karine Arribert, was responsible for their voidiness. So let's hope Arribert has new students.

I'd wish too... could an admin split the thread ?
It will be really hard to follow ice dance in full, without their originality and differences and modernity they were bringing with them. major loss IMHO.

I think they are the voidiest ice dancers I have ever seen too.
