According to the BBC the only survivor is a 10 y.o. Dutch boy who escaped with series but non life threatening injuries. About 61 out of the 93 passengers were Dutch and at least one was English. It was an Airbus aircraft and the cause of the crash is not yet known. They showed the crash site on tv and it is a miracle this little boy survived. I know he has millions of well wishers sending him good thoughts for a speedy recovery.

I saw that on this morning's news and couldn't believe that anyone could have survived that crash, based on the horrible devastation at the crash site. That poor boy -- a miracle that he survived, but what he must be going through emotionally now.

Here is an update on how he's doing. Doctors operated on him for four hours and says he is still too weak to be transported back to Holland. He says his name is Ruben.

The boy has met with an aunt and uncle who flew to Libya to be with him, but they haven't yet told him that his parents and older brother were killed in the crash.

There have been several air crashes in which the sole survivor was a child, suggesting that a child's body is more durable in such circumstances.
The parents had been updating their blog throughout the trip. Looks like they were having a great time.
