    Really? Am I the first one to remember it's mother's day here in the US (and Canada)?

    Happy Mother's Day everyone! When I was in second grade I had a particularly bad day in school. I can't remember exactly what happened, all I know is it was really embarrassing, and I didn't want to go back there. I still remember mom saying, "Go in there tomorrow with your chin up! If you don't think it's a big deal, no one else will think so either!" And no one else did

    Little late but Happy Mother's Day! We had the parents over for dinner last night. Should all go well (and hopefully quickly, within the next few months but I know it could take longer) I'll be celebrating Mother's day with my own little one next year.. so excited!

    Not yet.. just about to start trying. With both of us in our 30's we feel the window of opportunity closing (both biologically and timeline wise). It's definitely not a decision we made lightly and we made sure we were on the same page relationship wise. We will get married eventually but I think he wants to wait until he has the money for an engagement ring.. which I don't really care about at this point but I think it's important to him to do it "right". We can get married whenever.. it's not as time sensitive.

    But I do need to say that a baby is much much more expensive than an engagement ring.

    IMO - and this is PURELY in my own opinion; it's good to be married before the baby comes. There's a commitment to family that comes from being married... And having a kid changes a relationship; it's stressful, especially at first. IMO, marriage first, to formalize the family unit. It makes a difference.

    Others will, of course, disagree.
