I do know that Shaun Rogers is not competing this season.
Jason Brown is listed as senior according to IceNetwork.

Ah-ha...I went back to last year's NA and the result was:
1 Daniel Raad, Park FSC 141.91 5 1
2 Michael Solonoski, SC of New York 140.44 2 2
3 Colin Pennington, SC of New York 132.05 1 3
4 Michael Quadrino, SC of New York 119.83 3 4
5 Sam Dafoe, SC of New York 104.70 4 6
6 Aaron Gillespie, North Jersey FSC 104.28 6 5
7 Sam Gordon, SC of New York 82.67 7 7
Going by the MA roster, Dafoe, Raad & Quardrino are competing.
Do you know which of the others from last yaer's NA are still competing? Thanks again!
ETA: Same question for last year's Upper Great Lakes Regional Championships:
2 Justin Brachat, DuPage FSC 133.31 2 2
3 Paul Wood, DuPage FSC 121.76 3 3
4 Nicholas Krongard, St. Paul FSC 84.77 4 4
5 Johansan Jones, Skokie Valley SC 65.68 5 5
W Osadolo Irowa, DuPage FSC
Any of them still competing? (I'm toying with a tentative roster on Excel.)

For Upper Great Lakes, Alex Johnson is still competing (his club is still listed as Braemar which is in MN even though he now trains in CoSprings). I know Nick Krongard coaches in the Twin Cities area, but I'm not sure if he's competing again this season.
Alex Johnson officially has switched to Broadmoor SC (SW) for the upcoming Colorado Springs Invitational comp. and this qualifying season.
Michael Solonoski (NA last season) has retired from competitive skating (after finally having qualified for Nationals at the Senior level last season) and I believe he will be touring with one of the "Holiday on Ice" shows in Europe starting this fall (it might be the same one Navarro/Bommentre are in?).
I heard just recently that Wesley Campbell (EGL) may have switched to an Eastern region but don't yet know which one for sure.
Every year there seem to be a couple of Senior men whose names show up on a Regional or Sectional roster "out of the blue" and vice-versa (expected names that don't show up).

I just saw an article about Mroz
http://web.icenetwork.com/news/artic...&vkey=ice_news
"[The chances of] getting positive GOE's on lesser triples is reduced. They've taken out a footwork sequence, the penalties [for mistakes on] quads and [triple] Axels are less, and the positives are greater," he said. "We definitely want to include the quad in the short, for sure. Hopefully his combination spin will get a Level 4, and his other [spins] Level 3. He could build his short program score up to the mid-80s, maybe 90, who knows?
Why are the chances of getting positive GOEs on lesser triples reduced? GOE has been reduced overall, but ...?

Thanks again, Sylvia!
jlai, IJS Scoretracker (Senior Men) is now updated through Golden West. Additional Senior men's scores could very well be appearing later this month from various club competitions, so hopefully we'll soon have a clearer idea of the distribution of Senior men at Regionals/Sectionals.

Probably Zakrajsek said "Getting positive GOE's on lesser triples is reduced," meaning that the value of the positive GOEs is reduced, and the author or copy editor misunderstood and added "[The chances of]," which changes the meaning.
Universal Sports Q&A (Sept. 9, 2010): Get to know Ross Miner
Sylvia, thanks for posting this. The first time I saw Ross skate was as a 7 year old at the Boston Open! He was the cutest, blondest little boy and he won his section of the competition. He is still one of the nicest and down to earth kids that I have come across. I wish him continued success!![]()
Jonathan Cassar and Grant Hochstein have been assigned to Finlandia Trophy (Oct. 8-10), giving them each a bye through their Regionals (SWP and EGL, respectively).
