Miki Ando was expected to graduate the School of Health and Sports Science in the Chukyo University in this April, but she repeats a half year at the University till next September because the number of the credits she had earned was two credits short of the requirement for the graduation.

Commonly, it may be a disgrace to repeat a year in school, but it may have been rather fortunate for her aiming at the Tokyo Worlds in next season because she can use the training rink of the University without feeling hesitant as the student who is registering at least till September.

I rather wonder that the insufficiency of her credits to the requirement for the graduation was only two credits, while, as for figure skating, suffering the injury of the shoulder and the calf, groaning with the frequent rule revision about the jump and competing intensely with the rivals.

Yeah, I would think a full schedule of the grand prix circuit, Nationals, Worlds, etc. would make her situation more than understandable. I'm always amazed at what these skaters who are in school are able to do, especially when you hear about American college football and basketball players who (not all, but many) either are getting by with cake classes or the university giving them a break.

Probably because this is the time of year she can make the most money with all the shows and such. And even though school is important for her future-skating is how she makes a living now.
