What a wonderful story, thanks for the links. It reminds me of a cute cycling story I just read. The IOC recently awarded Olympic medals for a team cycling event from the 1948 Olympics. Apparently the guys that won didn't realize the race results were also used to calculate a team event as well as the individual medals, and just got on the bus and went home.
