    Lightbulb Rue Joannie Rochette!

I don't know what venues to pursue to accomplish this, but let's write to the council of Ill Dupas that they should rename the street where she grew up "Ru Joannie Rochette". Winning Canada's first Olympic medal in 22 years just days after losing her mother makes her deserve such an honor.

I'm fairly certain they've already named a street after her actually.

There is already a Rue Joannie Rochette, although I'm not 100% sure if it's in Bethierville or if it's in Ile Dupas. Also during the Olympics, the arena in Bethierville (formally called L'aréna du Centre Gilles Villeneuve) was rename Aréna Joannie Rochette

WOW! I really shoulda asked around first, feel silly for jumping the gun. Still, this thread at least served one purpose, reminding people of how much esteem she is held in, even before her tragedy made her front page news.

She's so cute. I didn't know her parents still lived in the itty bitty farm town Ille Dupas (sp?)

Yes, it's called Kimmie Way, which I think is rather cute. Couldn't find any links to a picture of the street sign, as it happenned 4 years ago, and all the links are defunct.
