    Taiwanese Susan Boyle

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA-tO...layer_embedded

What do you think? My thoughts:

    A good song is timeless.

A great voice will always beat any face.

You don't need to beg someone to sign you, prepare you like a product and hope that people will like the product to be popular; YouTube seems to work better and you can be yourself.

At moments I thought he may have been singing from a playback, or at least with a help of auto tuner, or whatever it's called. But overall I was impressed.

I saw this today and thought he was average at best. There must be something about this song because SO many people have done this song and blew me or many others away but then they can never replicate the same vocal on other songs. Is this song just made for singing, does it sit in some special range that is really comfortable for most? Any voice coaches out there?

Interesting point. I mean, generally about some people being able to sing only a specific song very well and not all the rest. As for this particular song, I think you still need to have a better than average voice to be able to sing it well. If I tried to sing it, trust me it would be quite pitiful.

He was ok, plus english is not his first language which may have effected his pronunciation a bit.

Good job, although if he were to be judged by Simon C., he would probably be criticized for carbon copying Whitney's version and not being original enough. If I were to hear him and not see him, I would think it is Justin Bieberesque-like. I hope that the puberty monster doesn't hit him hard.

On the other hand, it's such a contrast from Philippine's Got Talent's Big Mouth....

My husband was surfing the internet last night and had me listen.

I could only listen for a few seconds as I hate that song but all I kept thinking was wait till his voice changes!

He's actually very good! He should audition for RuPaul's drag race. He definitely has talent.

I thought you were kidding (because he couldn't possibly be more than 14 at the outside), but he is indeed 23: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/...n6374719.shtml

I'm no Susan Boyle fan, but she can sing rings around him . It's amazing to hear that voice come out of that face, but......

Not all that surprised. My Taiwanese friend's sister is 23 and honest to God looks 13. It's partly her face and partly the way she dresses. She still puts ribbons in her hair, and bells too if she feels like it. I have a few cousins who still look like they're in high school even though one's graduated college and the other's a junior in college. Asians tend to look younger than they are for a very long while. Except for me, because I act old or...something.

At least we won't have to wonder about his voice breaking.

The soft beginning is totally pitchy and and is only notable because you don't expect that falsetto to come out of him. Once he gets to open up and sing big though he does a very nice job. Maybe he was just nervous at the start.

Hate it. Of course I can't stand that style of mucking up the notes. Just hit the note with a strong pure sound and stay there. Is that too much to ask?

Talented for sure. What is it about this obsession with looks? Mama Cass Elliot, Kate Smith, Geddy Lee, and Freddie Mercury will never make People Magazine's 50 Most Beutiful People issue. Are we that shallow?

A really amazing voice (unlike SuBo who practically never sings clean ).
