Why don't they just use recorded music? I mean... the kind of dancing that I do mostly these days (contra/NE Squares) is done to live music, and I have done Latin exclusively to live music as well, but in both cases the music is being played by musicians who make a point of learning about the music (especially if they didn't grow up listening to and playing it as part of their culture) and learning to play it well.

Karina - if they did that, who would we complain about? Actually this bandleader seems to be all over the shows. He was the conductor for the orchestra at the Oscars too.
