Good for him for finally coming out, everyone needs to do it at their own pace/time, but the more folk who do come out, the better, IMHO.
Good for him!
This is great news....good for him.
Who cares at this point. I knew he was gay when he was on General Hospital.
I figured out he's gay when he was in Menudo.

I'm shocked, absolutely shocked![]()
Not a surprise but I'm happy he's comfortable enough to come out. Good for him.
another good looking guy is gay..good for him on coming out.
HUGE surprise
But congrats to him for coming out. It takes a lot of courage for anyone to do that, let alone someone in the public eye from a culture where homosexuality isn't as accepted as it is in some other places (though sadly not nearly enough places).
Cool. Andfor his main theme "a fortunate homosexual man", in deference to those millions who are not so fortunate.
Glad he came out his own, versus responding to any of the hundreds of wink winks and "friend of a friend said" stuff (and, er, more telling beach cavorting pics) from the past decade.
Still a dreamy guy, must say. Ricky's breakout performance of Livin' La Vida Loca (AMAs?) is still one of the hottest vids ever.
Wow, what a week. First Sean Hayes, and now Ricky Martin. Who knew?Knock me over with a feather if Janet Reno is next.
I've been on FSU far too much since the Olympics, because my first thought on seeing this thread title was "what world championships is that for?"
Did Sean Hayes have a public announcement? I know there was some article about him being mad that a gay newspaper claimed that he was trying to hide it so he replied to it in an angry tone.
So did why-is-he-a-celeb Perez ever tried to out Martin? It would be a surprised if he simply left Ricky alone.
Yes. Magazine cover even. Google saved me again.

His big breakout performance for me was The Cup of Life at the Grammy's in 1999. I'm not thinking I knew of him before that point.
Glad to read that he's finally comfortable enough to not hide the truth anymore.
As for Sean Hayes, I hadn't realized he'd never actually said it publically that he was gay.
I am happy for Ricky but the cynic in me just knows her has something to promote. So what is it? A new CD? A book? It always works out that way...

Maybe I'm a less cynical person in general, but I don't see coming out as something you do for promotion reasons, especially when a lot of your fans are Latino, who are mostly Catholic. I see it as something you do when you're ready to do it, promotion or not.
Yes.
The guy that played Will is actually straight. Is the guy that played Stanford on Sex and the City gay?
Now waiting for Anderson Cooper.
