    lol ....

like many others i luuuuurve Cecilia Torn's skating .... it's quite amazing, i have watched a few clips of hers on youtube but have been drawn to her ever since soft, beautiful arms and knees and everything ... (though landings on jumps are wild, wonky and non-existent .... i.e. splats...)

it's too bad she probably won't make the cut at Euros coz I want to watch her lovely free programme to Rachmaninov's concerto ... overused piece of music but she makes it her own .... oh well, at least she makes the Europeans ... quite an achievement

Here is the wording from ISU Rule 378:
In case a Member disposes of Direct entries as well as Preliminary Round entries in a Championships/discipline, the Competitors ranked higher in the ISU World Standings (at time of making the entry) must be given preference for the Direct entries. The Competitor(s) ranked lower in the ISU World Standings must be entered into the Preliminary Round.
I interpret "at the time of making the entry" to probably mean the competition's entry by name deadline, but it could also mean when the federation submits its entries to the championships.

    From the same rule:
At ISU Championships in Single & Pair Skating/Ice Dance and related Preliminary Rounds in 2011, 2012, the entries by name must reach simultaneously the Sport Director Figure Skating and the Organizing Committee 21 days before the first day (first official practice day) of the Championships concerned.

A gentle request to everyone - please put dundas on ignore, or at least stop quoting him/her. Then hopefully he/she will eventually just go away.

Lepistö back on the ice training

I just heard today that Laura Lepistö is finally on the ice again.
So it looks promising for the Tokyo WM!

Now we are just waiting tonight´s sports gala. Will she be named the sportsperson of the year, or will her WM bronze be voted for the most exciting moment in the Finnish sport year 2010?
The first is decided by the organization of the Finnish sport journalists, the later by general public. (I bribed a lots of people to vote her...)

That is great! Although I think she has been able to return a couple of times before but than has had to stop training again? I hope it's not like that this time.

Laura came second in the athlete of the year election. The most exiting sport moment went to the winning throw in pesäpallo (it is a game which is played nowhere else than in Finland).

I also hope she is back on the ice without further problems.

Does Juulia Turkkila's good result in Nordics mean that she'll go to Junior Worlds AND Worlds if Laura withdraws???

Oh, and about the 3-3 attempt and for her winning Joshi...

Junior Worlds was already secured because of her good outings at Euros. I think going to Worlds (if Laura is not able to go) was pretty certain based on Euros as well but Nordics just sealed it, I'm sure.

Yes, she is nice to watch. Just needs the more difficult jumps. She is a long-limbed young lady, who can use her arms very nocely in ther spins.

FFSA will decide in the end of Fabruary who shall go to the senior Worlds. IF laura can´t go (I really hope she can!), Juulia will be the next option.

It is also interesting in men. Bela Papp has the best SB so far, but he might want to concentrate in the Junior Worlds. Lets see.
