Funny, I feel like they're trying really hard to make me not watch this year. I love the dancers they're bringing back, there's just WAY too much focus on the "stars". Why not just have a SYTYCD All-Star season and be done with it? I'd totally watch that. But for a new season, I want to focus on the competitors.

I think there's too much focus on the all stars so far because the season hasn't started yet. As soon as the season starts, if the producers handle it well, the focus should be back on the contestants.

Based on how they've treated former contestants who have choreographed for the show, I'm not hopeful at all.

I didn't watch S1 but there was a woman who was great at hip hop - better than any other women we've seen since IMO from watching on youtube. I'd love for them to bring her back but it seems like the show kind of ignores the first season, it didn't really hit its stride until S2. I'd love to see Sara back though.

They don't necessarily have to have a hip hop girl. They can have the contestants (including the boys) do hip hop with a boy. They also can have the returning female dancers do hip hop even if that is not their area of specialty.

Was that Kamilah? She did a fantastic hip hop number with Allan (the big guy). There was also a contemporary dancer named Destini who did a great hip hop number with Jamile. Both Shane Sparks routines I think.

I think that Nigel said the All Star will always be dancing within their specialty (but whose specialty is Bollywood? Are the contemporary dancers really "Cultural" specialists?). There could be a 2 guy hip hop and I do think that Lauren lists hip hop as one of her specialties. I'd love to see Sara again, but there are rumors that

As for hip hop girls, the only one I can even think of is Comfort. Unless...wasn't Lauren supposed to be hip hop, in addition to contemporary? Or am I remembering wrong? If not, it's definitely going to be her - you know how much the show is in love with her.

Sara was a "b-girl" according to the show, but she also was trained in other styles. Donyelle from season 2 also does hip hop; she was in a crew that competed on America's Best Dance Crew. Honestly, if they do not bring back Sara, if they want a female hip hop dancer, they should try to get one of the women from Beat Freaks.
