Not looking forward to this season as much anymore.

I know this is not a popular sentiment among some SYTYCD fans, but I *thoroughly* enjoyed a Mia-less season last year, both in her choreography and her "organic" criticisms.

I'd be fine without a Mia return, especially with the judging.

And speaking of self-absorbed judges, I think it's rich that Nigel is criticizing Idol for making it too much about the judges. It drove me crazy last season how much time the judges were given, and so much of what they said was self-congratulatory.

Does this new format mean that SYTYCD has officially "Jumped the Shark" or is it just trying to reinvent itself?

These shows are always tweaking so I guess it is normal to make a change. But I am afraid that they decided to reinvent after the fall season was not as well watched as prior seasons, but that is because it was a fall season. I think the last summer show was just as popular as ever.

I don't want to say until I see the show...but I think the changes they've made over the last couple of seasons (crappy new stage, 3 permanent judges instead of 1 rotating) are not improvements. Fooling with the overall format, though, is tough. I'm sure I'll still watch, but I'm not feeling the urgency to catch every minute of each episode. If it's a nice night out, i'll probably skip it.

Just read that Mia is now a permanent judge for the season. I'm not even planning on tuning in at all now. I can't stand that woman, especially when she's going on windbag biased tangents when critiquing the dancers. Not to mention Lauren, Neil, and a few other 'all stars' that are returning... just, no. Sorry, SYTYCD, it's not appealing to me. I'll spend my time at the beach playing volleyball instead.

That's one of my pet beefs with her! I remember once she told a dancer that she needed to be *more organic*... ... Whatever!

I'll watch the show despite having to listen to her... is Tyce, her doppleganger, also going to be on the show?

With Mary Murphy's godawful shrieking gone, this season is already made of win in my book.

My TV guide descriptions says: "The seventh season begins with the first two rounds of auditions."

Does that mean two cities, or are we going to be spared of endless bits of shitty famewhores attempting to dance for their 3 minutes of fame?
