I stand alone in my Henin love (her game is to die for and I've thoroughly missed it). However, I don't think she has it in her yet to win this. Yet. She's had a tough go of it anyway and I don't think her body is used to the grind at this point.

    Serena will win this.

As to the men, it's wide open. I can't root against Roger because he's my favorite tennis player ever, but I wouldn't mind it at all if Davydenko takes the whole thing.

So in order of preference, it would be like this for me:

    1. Roger (duh)
    2. Davy
    3. Tsonga (LOVE his game)
    4. Nadal (he deserves it, even if his pants are ridiculous)
    5. Murray
    6. Cilic
    7. Roddick
    8. Djokovic

But honestly, I think Djokovic is going to win.

I don't mind Henin. Yeah, her personality can be a bit of a turn-off, but her game is just so pretty. Still, I can't see her beating Serena playing the way she is now. I think the serve in particular will do her in. It seems to be the one part of her game that hasn't come back yet.

I will, however, go ahead and call her winning the French right now.

I agree with everything. Henin's game

I want one of Davydenko, Roger or Djokovic to win it all. I want Cilic to play spoiler to Roddick, but I'd be okay with any of the men winning. Except Murray. I like his game, but find his personality so off putting.

I can't see Henin winning this...it's too soon; though I would love her to - but I think she'll do great at the French.

I think that is a pretty safe call. There is nobody who can even challenge her there really.

    Never! mea culpa

But, hey, we ranked Cilic in the same place. We're nearly twins we think so much alike.

Beefy, I've grown to love you even when you accused me of making clones of myself to make Henin win that top player game thingy . We don't agree on anything!

Except maybe Cilic. That's a start.

Henin vs Zheng in the semis. Basically a free pass for Henin to the final.

Well, in my defense, naming them "Jomena" and "Not Jimena" wasn't a very good stab at remaining incognito.

psst, maybe not you, and certainly not as many as were in that were in those gymnastics elimination games, but i'm sure that there were some clones in that silly thing

As a big Venus fan I'm fearing a Na Li upset tonight in the QF match. I'm not so sure the Williams' sisters will be playing each other here.

Hmmm, I'm not so sure about that. Jie Zheng is a very good player. Remember she was a wimbledon semi-finalist 2 years ago and has also made the 4th rd at the French Open. While I'm not picking an upset I do think Zheng has a shot at Henin.

Andy lost? That's actually quite sad. He's been playing well. This was a great opportunity for him.

Murray up two sets and a break on Nadal. Hmm. Not particularly happy about that one.

ETA: Rafa retired? What's wrong with him?

A knee injury - not sure if it's the same issue as last year but it doesn't bode well for him going forwards IMHO!!

Oh and if Na Li wins tonight she will become the first Chinese woman to reach top 10. If she loses, Stosur will reach top 10.

    Oh Andrew

Well, I suppose it was a good thing to grow up in a Mets house. I learned at an early age that watching sporting events might lead to a bit of your soul dying.

    *sigh*

Blergh! Rafa and Rodd out in the same night. Well, Andy did well for a one-armed man. And Rafa ... well, this is pretty much the patchwork of the remainder of his career. Brilliancy sprinkled with mid-match pain and withdrawals and long and short layoffs due to injury. I'll take what I can get, though.

Rooting for Murray now. Might have rooted for Cilic, but he really wouldn't have been in these semis if not for Andy's shoulder disability.

The Williams sisters and Bryan brothers each into their semis. Keep on practicing for your Williams/Bryan v Williams/Bryan London 2012 OGM match, kids!

Can anyone stop Federer or Serena now?

Davydenko is out of form and will probably get slammed tonight, inspite of his good recent record vs Roger. Djokovic is mostly owned by Federer in slams apart from the Aussie 2 years ago. Murray has lost his last 2 meetings with Federer in best of 3 and is less likely to pull it off vs Federer in a best of 5, and Cilic or Tsonga would really be a monstrous surprise.

As for the women Azarenka was slammed by Serena when they last played at Wimbledon. Li Na is too inconsistent to reach a slam final IMO, and Venus hasnt really done this well on rebound ace in a long time and rarely beats Serena these days. The main threat is probably Henin, but she doesnt look that good so far.

It seems almost inevitable what we are in store for now but I guess that is why they play the matches.
