Wow!!! No. 10, Lena, is a REAL knock out! Just wow! Certainly not the "best" singer (technically) in the show, but the best performer by light-years. Unique, tons of personality, charisma and star quality!!!

our Norwegian final is on saturday, then we will know about our entry....

We have rip-off of the 60ies, rip-off of all-the-ballads-ever-written, total heavy metal, some guys with totally uninteresting party songs, A1 (as mentioned...) and two saucy ballads.
one, girl in long, blue, romantic dress who's not singing, but only breathing the words=zzzzzz. song written by Rolf Lovland.
two, guy with bad diction trying desperatly to be Josh Groban, but melody is way too mainstream. I fear he will win, he's the favourite among fans it seems...

I really don't find interest in any of our songs this year, I hope Sweden will give me what I'm looking for... Our presenter is the best reason to turn on the Norwegian final this year, he's sweet and fun and short and very gay, like a little gnome, and he really hearts eurovision, I love him

Meanwhile most of the Nordics chose their entries last night:

Chanée & N'evergreen - "In a moment like this" will represent Denmark.

Hera Björk - "Je Ne Sais Quoi" will do the honours for Iceland.

Didrik Solli-Tangen - "My heart is yours" is the host country's effort this year.

And because the speakers on my laptop are kaput I still haven't heard the above.

I think I'm getting more and more critical every year, but so far none of these songs really caught my attention...

    as for the Nordic countries:
    Finland
    Denmark
Iceland - whee, sending Björk . long live the eurodance style!

as for Norway - why do we get 'You raise me up 2010'? what is worse, I think it may be well received by the audience...

The Norwegians made sure last night that we won't win it again (not that any of the other songs were better than this one). NRK, the broadcaster, had to sell their rights to the 2010 World Cup (Soccer) in South Africa because of the millions of dollars they have to spend on Eurovision.

my fear came to life, we (Norway) are sending the Josh Groban wannabe, who can't sing well, or pronounce the words properly just a big bowl of cream blah! (but as someone else mentioned, all the other songs were crap as well....)

Coming from a country that won and hosted three years in a row , trust me that it is a good thing.

Cyprus chose Jon Lilygreen & The Islanders - "Life looks better in spring" yesterday.

The Netherlands will be represented by Sieneke - "Ik Ben Verliefd (Sha-la-lie)"
    .

God how dire is this year looking so far. Oh well after the previous one being amazing, I guess things have to return to balance.

I am hoping this wins the Polish selection:

Marcin is my absolute fave and no.1 in the Polish selections.
btw, there's an official video here.
    enjoy!

and as for Norwegian selection, I listened to A1 and the guy who came in 4th in the golden final, and both songs were waaaaaaaay better than Groban 2...

When was the last time The Netherlands sent a good song? It seems they year after year are doing their damndest on sending crap.

In other news - all the tickets for the International final were sold out within 20 minutes today. It is expected that all 90 000 tickets will be sold out very soon (that includes the semifinals and the 3 final rehersals).

WOW! What a wonderful version! I often listen to French internet radio, so I knew the pop version of "Berlin" - but this is soooo much better! What a great artist Christophe is! Thanks a lot for the link!

but didn't you see how meaningfully he walked acrosse the stage

The Netherlands was at least campy enough to be sort of fun.

is it too early for us to pick which country we will be when we vote?
I feel like I'm in a dream. But it can't be a dream because there are no boy dancers!
