I'm excited, Oklahoma will be competing at Michigan State later in the season, so I'll get to see Hollie in action! I'll try to get some videos then!

A few Big Ten meets yet tonight, Iowa @ Penn State, and Michigan State @ Minnesota, and also Oklahoma @ Illinois.

Wonderful!! She looks fantastic and PLEASE let Oklahoma get to the Super Six this year so I can see her on TV again. I've adored her gymnastics since way back in 2001 when she was just an itty bitty thing and I'm glad her college career is going pretty well. I hope she has a fantastic senior year this year and maybe gets an NCAA title or two at some point!

Thanks for posting the videos. I've been busy this weekend and didn't have a chance to search for anything. You rock!

UCLA tumbled 6 spots. Not to worry, though.. things will be a lot more accurate once RQS kicks in after the 6th meet.

Biggest surprise of the season for me is Kentucky. They might be the dark horse to make it to Nationals this season.

Been frustrating to watch Michigan State tumble down the rankings... they had to count an 8.825 on floor this last week. I imagine all of their numbers will get better when they can throw out some of the low scores. Beam is respectable, at least. They're hitting that event like they never have before.

Kentucky has done so well but one thing about them is that they, IMO, don't have a ton of improvement they can make. I think they are doing well, can certainly improve their routines and scores some, but not enough to contend for a top 12 Nationals spot. I think a LOT of teams are starting off slow, working on the nerves, healing injuries, etc and they all have tons more potential than Kentucky based on their talent. However, I always root for SEC so I do hope they have a successful season, just so long as they don't keep LSU out of Nationals. hehe!

Auburn beat the Gym Dogs! The final scores were 195.255 to 194.9.

UGA does have issues. AU was ahead after the 1st rotation which was vault for us and bars for them. They had a few problems there. Then they came back and were edging us out on the next 2 rotations with a bad fall on floor which was actually an exhibition so it didn't count. The final rotation was us on floor and them on beam. Beam lost it for them. They had maybe 2 clean routines. Lots of checks and several falls. Courtney McCool barely hung on twice during her routine.

There seemed to be lots of tension in the UGA group.

Shalya did ok tonight. Not great though. I'm thinking she's a favorite of coaches' because of the way she was with Shayla vs. the other girls. Not sure really what's going on with them but there are issues.

It was a huge win for AU as they have never beat the gym dogs before and we didn't even get to roll Tomer's corner because it was raining so hard

    Meets for Saturday:

    12:30 EST #11 Missouri @ #9 Nebraska
1 EST Ohio State @ #22 Michigan State
    1 ESTPennsylvania @ Yale
    7 EST#1 Alabama, Minnesota @ Penn State
    8 EST #25 Illinois @ Iowa
8 ESTAir Force @ UC Davis

to see Georgia not doing so hot to start the season. Sounds like there's some turmoil with the group, and I'm sure with their coach retiring, things are probably operating with a different atmosphere. We'll see if they can pull things together, but I'm not so sure they'll be able to get back to where they left off last season.

We're about to head out to go watch the MSU/OSU practice warmups before the meet.. excited!

I wish I could go to the LSU/Bama meet but we are going out to eat for my bf's birthday with his parents. Oh well, there are still some good home meets left this season.

There's definitely some good meets going on tonight. I think I'm most interested in seeing Kentucky vs. Georgia. UGA has struggled all season (in comparison to the norm for them) and Kentucky has been steadily putting up high scores. I'll be interested to see how close the meet is and if Georgia will be able to feed off of a home crowd and get their program back to where it once was.

Additionally, Auburn at Arkansas could be quite a showdown. Auburn just came off a big upset win over UGA, so they might have the confidence built up to do well tonight. We'll see.

And as always, I'll be keeping an eye on the Big 10 teams... only Michigan is competing tonight, the other 6 teams are either tomorrow or Sunday.

LSU upsets Bama!! LSU posts season high 196.475 I believe. Jackson wins another AA and surely will be SEC gymnast of the week.

LSU wins again, matching their season high from last week with a 196.475! Susan Jackson won the AA (she was SEC Gymnast of the week last week) for the 6th straight meet which is a school record. She is on fire this year and has hit 24 for 24.

Ahaha! That's awesome! I forgot that that meet was on this weekend. Unfortunately both of those teams have started off to a very rough first half of their season.

Looks like Oklahoma is going to maintain #1 after this week, seeing that they posted another 197+ this week. Bama's right there, too.

Am I correct that the women's Big Ten championship is going to be held at Ohio State this year? I thought I saw that somewhere recently and now I can't find it again. Darn Olympics taking up all my time for other sports, LOL If it is going to be held there, I will definitely be making a trip to Columbus. That would be SO much fun!

LSU and Arkansas had a rare tie, both scoring 196.200! I guess they split the trophy in the battle of the boot, haha. Susan Jackson finally lost an AA but she still did well, scoring around 39.400
