Just rewatched the season 5 recap before the finale and the finale. I still cried when Elizabeth fell while Sawyer was begging her not to leave. And I still jumped when Nadia was killed by the hit and run driver. But I'm now convinced Jacob was evil. Watch me be totally wrong.

    I've missed this show!

I'm convinced Ben is doing a lot of bad things. I think he was not supposed to come back to island which is why he didn't transport to 1977. Not sure if I think Jacob or notLocke is evil, maybe neither are evil and we will learn why they have done what they have done.

I want to watch the season five finale again but I bawled my eyes out when Juliet fell down that hole and I just don't have a good emotional state left after the US Nats pairs competition to handle that right now. Maybe I'll watch up until that part and then change the channel.....or I'll just cry again anyway, LOL

Not too long to wait now. I'm excited for the Olympics but darn it, I want my Lost fix back too!

I would like to watch the final again to refresh myself on what happened but I just can't stand to watch Juliet die again. It gutted me last year!

I've had the finale sitting on my pvr since last May, waiting to rewatch this week. Does anyone know if the one they are airing will have the captions? That's sometimes useful.

I haven't really heard one way or the other so I guess we'll find out tomorrow. I'm so anxious for this show to come back now!

I'm still torn. It's like the first day of vacation - it's finally here, but it also means that inevitably it will be over before long. Sigh.

For real. I'm going to hate when this show ends. No other show on TV has made me think so much or have so much fun while doing it and I'm going to really miss that when it's gone. Thank goodness the other five seasons are all ready on DVD and the sixth better get on there not long after it's over! *ponders the sales at Amazon.com right now*

BTW-The season five finale is on ABC right now and they are doing the pop up thing with it. I'm watching until that hole starts causing a ruckus because I don't think I can watch Juliet get sucked down it again.

Did anyone watch the finale? Were the popups worth it, did they reveal anything new or give any hints?

I'm watching it right now (show airs from 9-11 PM tonight) and the pop ups aren't really telling me anything I didn't all ready know from reading all the stuff I do about the show. They have been interesting though.

Juliet It wasn't as brutal as the first time I watched her fall but darn it I still cried buckets during her scene with Sawyer. I hate this show sometimes.

So glad they reshowed this. I missed it last spring.

The captions were very helpful. It's been so long and with the characters in different years and so many characters...whew, it's good to have help.

    some thoughts

I think notLocke is the man in the black shirt at the top of the show talking to Jacob. Was he off the pirate ship or did that just happen to be there?

How could Jacob be killed if he's sort of immortal? The captions made much of him touching all the Losties at some earlier date. So? And what to make of Jacobs final statement, "They're coming."? who, Jacob, who? makes me think the Losties and new Losties will have to stay to fight Them. If the guy was off the pirate ship or slave ship or whatever, is the They the other people from the ship who would be coming back to join the pirate who would now be in charge of the island like that Johnny Depp movie pirates of the caribbean? No? Maybe? far fetched? silly. it could happen. they have polar bears.

Couldn't the white light when Juliet hit be another time shift? No? Maybe? Or did Jack's plan work and they will pick up in L.A. like Jack imagined they would? Only one week till we find out.

I was glad to see Rose and hubby happy and content in their ideal island life.
This episode featured too much fake blood, and they didn't keep continuity with Juliet's at the end.

So did I miss it all through the years or is Not Locke also Not Christian Shepherd?

The popups annoyed me after a while. "Notice Jacob touching Sun" "Notice Jacob touching Jack's finger" "Notice that Jacob touches ____". I'm thinking the average Lost obsessor has already noticed that Jacob touched them all.

Last comment - Josh Holloway really has come a long way on this show. Originally he was very nice eye candy (and still is), but he broke my heart in his last scenes with Juliet. (also loved Elizabeth Mitchell in those scenes - her eyes are so expressive).

Yes. Lost is the show that made me start watching tv again. I had written tv off as a reality show wasteland that was an insult to the intelligence of most adults. A lot of tv shows are still that way, but I'm so glad I accidentally stumbled across the repeat of the Lost season 1 finale back in September 2005. I immediately ran out and rented season 1 so that I could be ready to watch when season 2 started. I will be sad to see it end!

I will say that I'm glad they are doing it this way. I like that they planned the ending years ago so could really tell the story as it should be, rather than based on whether or not it was renewed or how the ratings were doing. Only the writers' strike had some effect on carrying out the vision of the story.

I recall Twin Peaks years ago - so innovative, but then it was a hit and the story was stretched beyond its original premise, losing sight IMO of what made it so good at first, and clearly pandering to its own popularity, with disappointing results.

Anyone feel like sharing their favorite moments that stay with them from LOST? There are 2 that jump out for me:

    1) End of Season 1 when Michael's boat is being pushed out to sea. There's this extraordinarily emotional music and a LOOK between Jin and Sun that gutted me! (Actually the moments leading up the "LOOK" are pretty amazing too - her giving him a phonetic list of words, their hug goodbye, Vincent running into the water after Walt)

    2) Forget which season (4?) - but the one where Desmond is on the freighter and FINALLY speaks to Penny in "real" time. I remember holding my breath during the moments as the phone was ringing and then crying when he said, "Penny?"

My favorite ... Walkabout Walkabout Walkabout!!! OMG that episode had me in tears at the end when it was finally revealed Locke in the wheelchair (and all throughout with the way Locke was treated by people in his life). I guess I'm not that observant because I never saw that coming and I was like a baby when that scene at the tour office occurred.

And agree about end of Season 1! That whole scene, the goodbyes between everyone, and the music just made it that much more sad. The music score on this show is unbelieveable!!

There are so many fav moments. I am currently rewatching Season 3:

Hurley, Charlie, Jin and Sawyer in the VW Van having fun.

Sawyer upon returning from the cages to the island and realizing all his stuff has been dispersed. The bet in playing the game of ping pong and Jin in Korean telling Sun, then Sun telling all the bet should be no nicknames from Sawyer for a week.

Sayid's reunion with Nadia, and then Nadia's death.

Sawyer - with no shirt on.

Indeed. Every show has offered so many moments that's it hard to pick a few, but I will say I remember some very hot sex/romance moments - many featuring Sawyer happily - rather fondly.
