Tour de France warm up mayhem when a herd of cows wandered into the path of cyclists http://www.thescore.com/buzz/article...-cycling-crash
No news as yet of any serious injuries but hopefully everyone is ok.
I guess some sports really need more cowbells.

So are the teams going to have to whip up some new jerseys for these guys in time for the Tour de France? I guess Frank can keep his current Leopard-Trek jersey since he already has the Luxembourg stripes on it. I wonder what they'll do for Fabian since the Swiss flag isn't a striped affair that they can just wedge into the blue band on the jersey. It's too bad that Leopard-Trek minimizes the national champion design; he looks amazing in red:

Although he might have had to deal with occasional idiots running up to him trying to get medical assistance. ("No, you're looking for a red cross on a white background.")
German speed skater Claudia Pechstein indicates that she wants to make the German Olympic team in track cycling.

A big "ehhh...." to the Swiss champion jersey. It looks like Fabian should be standing next to other guys with red banners on their chests with maybe a white multiplication sign, or a division sign, or a square root sign. They could call themselves "The Math Team."

The bottom of the jersey is just plain white.....why not fill that area with the flag! (That way it wouldn't vaguely remind me of a bandeau or tube top.)
Agreed, really bad version of the jersey.

HTC-Highroad to become non-existent after this season. Wow....six stage wins in the Tour and the green jersey and they still couldn't secure sponsorship?!!?

I guess Cav will be going to Sky. Sorry, Wiggo....time to learn how to be a lead-out man.
That's really exceptionally unfortunate. Obviously I'm a big HTC-Highroad fan, but even without that, it's sad to see such a well built team disband. And on a personal level, I'll be sad to have my favorite riders split up so I have to root for them separately. I have death in my soul!
It'll be interesting to see what happens to Cav. Obviously he'll be going to Sky but I don't know that Sky is really willing to work primarily for him (and primarily for stage wins) the way that HTC was. It's certainly going to change the look of the race without HTC driving the chase on the flat stages!
I wonder where the other riders will end up.

I really hate to see this, it's also a big blow to women's cycling since they were one of the top women's teams.
I guess it's the nature of the sport that teams evolve and often disband, but it's still sad that they couldn't find a sponsor. They tended to be so international that I never really thought of them as a US team (especially since they started life as a German team), but I am glad that there are still some US pro teams or we'd never see any coverage in the US.

Velonews is reporting that there is speculation that Cav will actually not go to sky and will instead go to the new Australian team GreenEDGE. I wonder if the Renshaw-Cavendish combo will stay together.
