I can't believe that even a single professional cyclist is clean. It would astonish me.
Mark Renshaw wins the overall at Tour of Qatar - good for him!
getting the trophy

El Pais reports that the rumors are true and the Spanish Federation has ignored the recommendation of the disciplinary committee and won't sanction Contador. UCI/WADA. have previously indicated that they'd appeal a "no sanction"
Tricky question of whether Riis sits Contador or not pending appeal. If he lets Contador race, and CAS eventually rules against him, the ban could start from the last race and Contador will lose credit for "time served" since his last race. (ETA: NY Times reporter tweets that Contador will race tomorrow)

EW! Holy CRAP!
On the upside (for us Cav fans, at least), Cav finally managed to stay on his bike and he won something! Specifically the final stage of the Tour of Oman.

So is no one watching the VS HD coverage of Paris-Nice except for me? I feel lonely.
I haven't seen much of the tv coverage yet, but I've been following the live feeds. I hate to see so many crashes. But I'm very excited for Tirreno-Adriatico starting tomorrow. Lots of big names including Evans, Thor, Cav, Basso, Nibali and Fabian on the starting line.
And the CAS suspends Pellizotti for 2 years based on his blood values, but no actual positive test. He'd be back for the 2012 Giro, except at the moment he's promising/threatening to leave the sport.

Maybe I'll check out the live feeds; I enjoy the TV coverage, but I can parrot back the stock phrases that Roll and Sherwin utter every time. Three days and I am tired of hearing them commentate already. All the crashes are disturbing, I agree.
Am excited also for Tirreno-Adriatico.
Rabobank wins a TTT? Am I in some sort of alternate universe?

The alternate universe continues with today's Paris-Nice results. Who'd have thoughtwould win a sprint against anyone?Spoiler
Klodi
And to the victor goes the spoils, or in this case, the stuffed lion
Meanwhile in Italy, Tyler has a nice quote for Thor:
"We were motivated and the team was perfect," Farrar said. "When the world champion is riding for you, you have to win."

Tirreno's trident trophy is one of the coolest (but don't look at the pic if you don't want to be spoiled)

Patrick Sinkewitz provisionally suspended (how long has it been since he was eligible to ride again?) for a positive test for Human Growth Hormone.
Interesting that they've been talking about a test for this for some time, but it's finally public.
ETA: And in other doping news, Fuentes finally charged in Puerto

Yay, Fabian! Two flat tires and a bike change, and he STILL manages to crush everybody.

Those Trek engineers better be sweating bullets at this point. Any more bike-related problems, and Spartacus will go back to Specialized and just paint "Trek" on it.
A podium of Boonen, Bennati and Farrar - what's not to like?

Love O'Grady's quote about the race:
''There are so many holes and speed humps. You are shooting down kerbs, jumping stuff … it's insane. Guys are crashing all around you, and the road conditions are pretty atrocious. But that's what Belgian races are like. It's bloody mad.
''At every town and village, they are doing everything to slow traffic down with speed humps, and traffic islands and roundabouts - all sorts of stuff. And we are a bigger and faster moving peloton today than five to 10 years ago. There are all the ingredients there for carnage.''
