Have you looked at flights going through New York, Philadelphia or Boston, there are direct flights to Halifax from all three.

If you want to travel around the province you will either need to go on a bus tour or rent a car. If you want to rent a car book it early.

I tend to agree with you though I have seen videos for cheer/acrobatic teams where a female is doing the lifting they still had the issue of a very short & small liftee verse a much taller and larger lifter.
