    Shoma Uno announces retirement

Thanks, Shoma, for being a part of the recent revolution in men's skating. To me, this generation of guys--Nathan, Shoma, and Jin--got us past the it's-OK-to-splat-on-everything trend and helped define a new era in which the difficult quadruple jumps were expected, the artistry--nonetheless-had...

    U.S. Ice Dance 2023-24 news & updates

4th in 2006 during the Olympic season. 5th in 2005 & 2007. Fun fact: They defeated Virtue & Moir at the 2005 World Junior Championships and the 2006 4CCs.

Thank you for the update! I've quite enjoyed watching Kristina develop and become a performer within the sport. Best wishes to them both.

The Dance Hall 12: Boston Tea Dance Party

I've missed tons of pages in this thread, but in case it hasn't been mentioned here, apparently Bronsard & Richmond have split.

The Dance Hall 12: Boston Tea Dance Party

Well, we knew something wasn't right with K&K missing so much of this season. (I would not be surprised to see the current junior team make it to the Olympic team event). As for Reviya, if he's done due to injury, that is a career that ended too early. (Like Thauron). Opens a door in Georgia...

Transparency comes to MLB: the 2024 baseball thread

She will be 102 (!) years old in 3 months. Jackie died in 1972."

The Dance Hall 12: Boston Tea Dance Party

Well, for those who are upset that IAM took them in, I suspect this particular Tiger Mom is the gift that keeps on giving. So natural consequences and all that;). (Also, I've gotta say it's ironic that her daughter fell in love with this particular discipline. Plenty of heartache in ice dance...

I'm assuming Fear & Gibson will continue.

The Dance Hall 12: Boston Tea Dance Party

Truly, I am as well right now. I am very happy with the growth that Demougeot & Le Mercier and Tkachenko & Kiliakov had this season. And I loved Orihara & Pirinen's Chicago program. But this has been my least favorite dance season in a long time. I'm not a fan of where the current rules are...

The Dance Hall 12: Boston Tea Dance Party

I assume the same things that Lopareva & Brissaud are working on. Longer, smoother stroking, in particular. More finish & more polish. Lifts that aren't eye sores. (And higher scores, of course). Christina should be getting toward the end of that commute, I would hope. They have a little time...

Well, I can think of a whole slew of reasons; but it's up to them.

Yes, but I've been assuming he was still trying to acquire U.S. citizenship. Is he not?

I know, but I'm still curious if they are planning to compete as seniors.

He can train at IAM already? It's fine with me if they are training with IAM, but the news surprises me because it doesn't seem to jive with the estimates in the U.S. dance thread for how long it takes to get U.S. citizenship after marriage. Is it only one year?

    U.S. Ice Dance 2023-24 news & updates

Is Horovyi aging up to seniors this season? (I'm thinking yes?) The Peals, Mullens, and Ilin & Cain are still age eligible and still on the ISP. (And all did well on the JGP this season). Does anyone know if Bland & Sperry are planning to make the leap to seniors?
