And to both of you too. ;)

I'm glad she's working hard on her programmes.

    Curious -

    1. Does she ever compete at Korean Nats, or would she this season simply because she needs to get her programs out on the ice?

    2. Would she also consider doing this for 4CC's? Again, she needs to get the programs out there....

She was a junior champ and 4 time senior champ in 5 years in a row. And no she wouldn't.

Nope. The programs will be opened to the public NEXT MARCH. ;)

Probably Yu-Na is looking for a new challenge - competing at Worlds with new programs and no "warm up" competition before. :)
I hope she really comes to Tokyo.

She may have won the OGM in high style but consider her lack of same at the next worlds. Might that be in the back of her mind somewhere once she shows up to compete? It has been a while since she's been in a competition. I remember Michelle Kwan doing something similar (ok, so she wasn't the OGM'ist) and that didn't turn out so well (and she had alot more competition experience than Yu Na. all the same, I wish her the best and look forward to seeing her compete. I supposed it will be shown somewhere...

It will be really interesting to see how she does. It does not take long time to forget how to act under pressure. After taking a year off school I had totally forgot how to get mentally ready for difficult exams. And mental side is really important in figure skating like we all know.

But anyway, I hope she will do well.

OK. Thanks. Regardless of how talented someone is, I think it's a bit dangerous to debut your programs at Worlds especially with a coaching change.

Normally, I would agree but this season, ladies have been so underwheliming. With Mao struggling and Joannie out, I don't think she'll have much competition even if she skates like last year. But then again, I do welcome any surprises because every competition needs some excitement!

"Every morning, Kwan’s father, Danny, greets the skaters at the door."

And he buys the Zam drivers a McD Angus Burger or brings Chinese food! He's a great guy, the skaters love him, he really creates a team or family atmosphere at EWIP.

Yu-Na will likely make the podium next March. But winning after not competing for a whole year? I'm not so sure.

He really does. I took VERY basic adult lessons last year and he was always there. He actually came out of the office and showed me to the ice and helped me with my skates the first time I went to the rink to check it out. :respec:

Doesn't the ISU penalize you for not competing in the Grand Prix and other warm-up events? It's just not fair for skaters that have the burden of traveling and competing everywhere to lose the medal for a one time show. :kickass:

This may help you, read "Rule 102 2.Definition of an ineligible person". Yu-Na has no reason to be ineligible.

IMHO, skaters are not forced to take the burdens, GP series, Euro, FC, etc. If they don't want to do it, they need not to do it like Joannie, Evan, etc...

The matter is how many invitations skaters can receive from the hosting federations. And World championships has another solution to whom not competing during the ongoing season or immediately preceding season. "Preliminary Round". ;)

I lost a lot of respect for Yuna after the whole Brian Orser firing earlier this year.

^ what does that have to do with the price of fish in china?

regarding Yuna skipping the gp series, possibly the 4cc's and going straight to the Worlds - i really dont think her one and only goal and purpose is to win the gold. I'm sure it's one of her goals, but i think first and foremost, she wants to skate and deliver her performance and message of thanks to her country people and the audience. the girl's already achieved more than enough medal wise, i guess she wants to achieve more on an emotional and demonstrative level if anything.

    Alissa :D:hat1::encore::encore::encore::saint:

    Now THAT would be fun.

(No disrespect to Kim) - What a World's that would be.

Hope Alissa could get any medal back to US.

If she wins Gold, it will be the first time since Kimmie's 2006.
    Silver, Sasha's 2005.
    Bronze, Sasha's 2006.

Whichever the color would be, it will be greater than her winning GPF!
