It's the off season, so it's OK to be nostalgic.

What are your two most favorite Yagudin LP performances at worlds or Olympics? For the Olympic year you have two choices- vote for whichever you thought was better of the two.

    Lawrence of Arabia, by far.
Then Man in the iron mask, Olympics, probably.

Lawrence of Arabia (1999) and The Man in the Iron Mask (2002 SLC)

I like his Gladiator program very much, but his 2001 Worlds performance of it was very flawed (I realize he was injured, IIRC). I thought he skated it to potential @ Skate Canada in the fall of 2000.

I loved his Gladiator program, although he could not skate it well due to injury at worlds. The Gladiator could very well be my most favorite Yagudin LP ever. I may be the only one that did not care for MITIM program, although his performances were great at both Olympics and worlds. I still could not vote for it because I just disliked the program. I liked Lawrence of Arabia and also Snowstorm (surprisingly; he was still with Mishin at that time, I think).

Oh Yags how I miss you. I went with the majority Gladiator(my fave) and MITIM Olympic version simply because of the moment.

First, I hate that Team Yagudin ditched his "Broken Arrow" program in the 2000 season in favor of "Tosca." I really wanted to see this program evolve and skated to its full potential. It was my favorite Yagudin program.

From this list, I have to go with "Lawrence of Arabia" and "Man in the Iron Mask" from the Olympics as my favorites.

Loved his "Winter" program, but his "Broken Arrow" FS was definitely my favourite.

Lawrence of Arabia and Broken Arrow.

I also liked Gladiator. And he is responsible for the moment everyone in my house knew I was deep in FS mode...when, sitting in my bedroom, I heard the TV switched on in the lounge room, and asked, "What part of Man in the Iron Mask are we up to?" without looking. (Familiar music.)

^ Winter is a great program, but it's a short program. The poll is for free skates.

Maybe it's because of the "Worlds 2001"-performance Vash has listed. It was quite weak, he was injured and uninspired then (in opposite to his SP!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=og59QN4L_ko), probably because he already knew he couldn't win. "Gladiator" at Euros 2001 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKT-vdTwqWw) was so much better, breathtaking and extremely emotional, even though it wasn't perfect.

My picks are MITIM at SLC and a vote for "other" meant for Gladiator 2002 at QR at World 2002 in Nagano - he skated it brilliantly there. :swoon:

I agree. "Gladiator" is my favorite program, but 2 favorite FP performances in Worlds and Olympics are "Lawrence of Arabia" 1999 World and MITIM 2002 Olympic. In all performances in Worlds and Olympic, I love "Revolution √Čtude" 2001 World the best:)

Why did Yags replace Broken Arrow LP with Tosca at worlds?

I always heard it was because of negative feedback from the judges for the theme.....and that they didn't like getting mowed down by a machine gun at the end of the program. ;)

Well, I understand the judges - that's actually Yagudin's only programme after his switch to Tarassova which I absolutely disliked. :scream:

I like Broken Arrow more than Tosca.
I found Tosca too generic, I mean, not original, at all. ;)
