I have found a new favourite mantra. Someone wrote this in response to an email from an extremely rude person who was berating a group of us volunteers who had been working our arses off for a over a week for what she considered were our pathetic efforts and lack of professionalism.

    So this is it:

We could have told her to F*ck off but I think this was much better.

Before that my previous favourite mantra was:

Seriously sometimes you need these just to put life in perspective. And the first one makes an excellent comeback. Just need to make sure you remember them for those appropriate moments.

Anyway I am always looking for new ones. :)

Two that I use quite often are both from the same movie "American Dreamer".

The first is for when I'm trying to write or edit a document and I'm having trouble: "Cmon Rebecca, be brilliant. I want to go to Paris." (just fyi - my name isn't Rebecca)

I use the following in all manner of circumstances when I'm having trouble with an inanimate object: "I will not be defeated by a fictional character in a third-rate romantic thriller!"

Of course there's also Buckeroo Banzai: "Wherever you go, there you are."
