What's being said on xtra factor? Has Cheryl made some comment? I'm watching the Elton John interview so can't watch.

I'm really interested to see who finished bottom two between Mary and Cher last weekend.

Mr. allezfred was just joking about applying next year and we were trying to think what kind of a sob story he could think up. All we could come up with that since our dishwasher broke he now has to wash the dishes by hand.

I loved Matt's comment when they said he'd be singing that song on the album. He said "Hopefully I'll be singing it a bit better than that!".

He did some amazing songs though, not this week, but earlier. For example, Knights in White Satin
and The First Time (ever I saw your face)

I'll be buying Rebecca's album though. I'm sure she'll produce one and I'm sure it'll be great :)

This is the best possible result for Rebecca! :)

I'm glad she didn't win because I remembered that the winner is going to rush-release an album. :/

I am sure she's gonna get signed. Even if not by Simon, a lot of artists and producers expressed an interest in her.

She's definitely not the kind of singer who could churn out catchy hit singles. I can imagine her doing a Corinne Bailey-Rae/Norah Jones/Adele/Duffy/Amy Winehouse type album. Hopefully some label is going to decide to invest in her and give her time to develop something special.

    ---

Because Joe McElderry's debut totally bombed, Simon decided that he's not going to give the winner a year to develop an album anymore, like he did with Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke and McElderry.

Why? Because by the time McElderry's album was released, "nobody remembered who he was."

Uhmm... I hate to break it to you Simon, but Joe's album bombed because it's a crap album and he has a personality of a cardboard box. :saint:

Still, Matt is going to have an album rush-released. Which means that most likely it's going to be either covers or already written songs available for sale. And he won't get enough time to really perfect neither the vocals or the music. So most likely it'll be crap. :p

    ---

One Direction are getting signed by Simon. A while ago, he already ordered for some songs to be written for them. He wants to make them a little more edgy, apparently. :p Like what, shaved heads, manga haircuts and tattoos? :p

    ---

Cher is also definitely going to get signed. Will.i.am and Jay-Z both want her and are willing to produce and release her, if Simon doesn't.

Good luck working with her. Given her history of constant tantrums and hysteria, I'm sure she'll be super easy and pleasant to work with...

    ---

Whether Mary is going to become a successful recording artist (I highly doubt it) or not, she's going to be sorted. There apparently is a huge interest in her doing ads and endorsements. M&S has been named but there are supposed to be loads of others (I guess Tesco ;)).

And I would imagine she can make a decent income touring. Maybe West End performances too.

And motivational speaking bullshit too I bet.

    Mary 14.99%
    Cher 11.57%

Why am I not surprised? :p

Cher has also received less votes than Paije the week when they both were in the bottom two.

Oh and Katie has received less votes than F.Y.D. and Treyc in the weeks they got eliminated.

    Damn judges! :/

They haven't rush-released an album since Shayne Ward. It usually comes out around the time the following year's X Factor starts.

They haven't but they're going to return to doing that, at least this time around. Simon doesn't want another Leon Jackson/Joe McElderry type flop, so the idea is to milk the winner's publicity before it dries up.

And because of American X-Factor taking priority now, the next British one won't start until something like December 2011 or January 2012.

Ziggy, you're such a know it all, why aren't you president of the US or something similar?

I believe it when I see it. They are Americans, blah blah and empty promises.

Lol, I just read Digital Spy. :D

Bear in mind pretty much all that is posted there is gossip. ;)

    The current round of it:

    - Shayne Ward is getting dropped by Syco after his album bombed.

    - Here's why Take That performed the same song again, instead of their new single:
    http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s103...8/cowell-bans-take-that-riot-cop-dancers.html

    - Simon is most likely going to focus on the US version of X-Factor

I guess there is more money to be made in the States. ;)

    - Cheryl Cole has apparently been signed to the US version (not officially yet).

    - Simon's now dismissed claims that One Direction are guaranteed a deal.

    - More on Matt's rumored sexoholism :D
    http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s103...9/make-up-artist-claims-matt-cardle-romp.html

    - Louis said in an interview that Simon is arranging for Mary to be signed to Sony

    - Matt wants to co-write his material. He plays guitar and has been writing music since he was 11. I wonder if Simon will let him. :p

Oh, I'm very aware of that. My problem with you is that you present everything you write as facts.
You need to work on your wording, learn indirect speech and conditional etc.

Soooooo out of all the X-Factor contestants, the ones that are supposedly going anywhere with their careers at the moment:

Cher apparently got that Jay-Z deal and her album is scheduled for release in August. She recorded a song with will.i.am.

Rebecca got signed by Epic and is writing and recording.

One Direction got signed to Syco and first single is scheduled for 13th March.

Mary is recording an album too. I wonder if it's going to be original material or lots of oldie covers. :p

I am betting McElderry getting dropped is just a matter of time. As is formal announcement of Ward getting dropped. ;)
