The standings were updated as of 8/19. It appears that changes in point values for Junior competitions have been applied, and the standings have changed as a result.

For example, some of the men have moved down in rank since the end of the 2009-2010 season:
    Was/Now
    4 / 7 Michal Brezina
    17 / 21 Nan Song
    21 / 25 Artur Gachinski
    19 / 28 Yuzuru Hanyu

    Names removed:
    Evgeny Plushenko
    Stefan Lindemann
    Gregor Urbas
    Song Gao

Brezina should be moving up, not down, logically! They have weird criteria for these things.

Once the season starts the new "Season's World Ranking" lists will be updated. :watch:

The previous thread (linked above by Sylvia) contains all of the details about this new ranking.

And back to the farse that is ISU world ranking. Ladies and pairs seem reasonable enough (hey, Kostner is down to 6th and the second ranked European), although shouldn't Mukh/Tra be taken off the list, as well? Ice Dance is quite ridiculous, with the (lovely) Kerrs ahead of the World and Olympic champions and Pec/Bour ahead of Dom/Shab, and the men are out of whack, as well, with the World champion and olympic medalist down in 13 while Tomas Verner is back at the top (well, #3) and Jeremy Abbott is ahead of Patrick Chan...
