With all the rumors of Cher and Reba dying, I'm hoping this is just another hoax?
Wow, very unexpected...and yet not?
That would explain why all my gossip sites are impossible to get to right now. Hope it's not true, but if it is, that's very sad.
Confirmed on MSNBC.com
Just last night I happened upon Waiting to Exhale on cable. She was the background voice of my 20's. Such a sad end. Feel so sorry for her daughter.
Hope the Grammys find a way to honor her career tomorrow.
48, seriously, and you're right about the Grammys dbell.
I think I had just heard that Simon was trying to get her to host the X-Factor, whatever the name of his show is.
RIP, you very talented and extremely screwed up lady
Damn! I thought she was getting it together.......RIP
I know I shouldn't be that suprirsed, but I gasped when I saw the news greeting me when I logged on.
Her rep is the one who released the info. So, it's almost certainly true.
So, so sad.
I saw a picture of her on Perez a couple nights ago and she looked rather drunk sadly... Such a sad end. She was one of the greatest voices I've ever heard... So utterly tragic... I'm in a state of shock...
48 is too young
Unbelievably sad ….
I was never a fan of her music, but she had an incredible voice, and her rendition of the Star Spangled Banner at the 1991 Superbowl still sends a shiver through me whenever I think about it.
How old is her daughter? That poor girl.
So incredibly sad, and so incredibly not surprising. Such an amazing voice in her prime.
Has it really been confirmed? MSNBC article simply says that the publicist said that Whitney had died. So it's still 2nd hand information at this point.
Oh no she di'int. Such a shame that someone so talented never recovered.
OMG--the only bigger shock was when MJ died.
A year old than Judy Garland.
How horribly sad. Such a vast talent, harmed by herself. RIP and condolences to Bobbi Kristina and to her parents and family.
Associated Press has released it.
She will be 19 on March 4th.
Horrible news. What a talented singer she was.
Wow, Wow, Wow; I wonder if her body just couldn't recover from the damage of years of abuse.
My heart and prayers go out to her family, especially her mom and her daughter.
What the crap?!?!?!?
What a shame, hadn't she been turning things around? I suppose for a drug addict, the battle is never over.
She really did have the most amazing voice back in the 90s. This is just sad.
I just heard this on the radio and the first place I came to was here. Bit of a shock. But then probably not.
As much as I didn't like her music, she did have an amazing voice.
wow, how sad. I guess it's true what they say — there are no old drug addicts.
The article I just read on Yahoo said she was born in 1993, so... 18.
If only Whitney had gotten married to someone like Johnny Matthis or even Eddie Murphy instead of Bobby Brown.
RIP Whitney. Wonderful singer of my generation, just 1 year my junior.
huh? Are you referring to her drug abuse?
If so, the reports were she was existing user before she met Bobby.
