I actually see no Battle of the Carmens, but I wouldn't mind Jeff Buttle!Love him!
Love him too
not today, but possibly by Sunday
No, I think she meant there is no direct competition between C/L and V/M since everybody as been talking about the battle of the carmens. Anyways this preview from the ice-dance site also mentions that the battle is more of a battle between B/S and C/L. I'm so excited for this weekend though I can't even concentrate long enough to finish a chapter in my microbio book, and we still have three days to go!
We're always gonna be paranoid about V/M being overtaken, but I'm gonna argue that Zoueva (with her teams) has every reason to crack the whip this season and refute any argument supporting their decline.
So when do V&M perform Carmen, Sunday?
Virtue-Moir withdrew due to the injury http://www.stll.fi/finlandia_trophy/?x2830320=3055225
OMG this can't be happening
Does anyone know more details about this? I'm trying my best not to freak out here.
..Oh.No..Scott?..What's the injury ?.. and is it Scott ? ..
It is a shock . Wishing speedy recovery of Scott!
I just hope it's not serious...
WHY do they (and us) have to go through this nightmare every two years?? It's become like a damn pattern. So unfair...
Trying to see the best case scenario... in their position, it would be foolish to risk their GPs by skating through a minor injury , thereby taking a chance on it worsening..
OTOH, there could have been an accident in practice..and there's bound to be fear that it's Tessa again. I know that was the first thing that crossed my mind , so I almost felt relieved to see that it was supposed to be to Scott..except I don't want Scott to be injured either..
I'm going to try to sleep now ( nearly 2AM here)..but I don't expect to have much luck.
Just gutted. For them, and for me
I literally just screamed NOOO at the top of my lungs for a good twenty seconds until someone knocked on my door asking me if I was okay.
Better now than later. There is a whole 20 days until Skate Canada. Even if they do not skate it will give them a nice chance to assess the competition and see whether C&L have more than just the music similar to them.
Hope it's not too serious.
Simply feel sad.
And no full information about what happened
Get well soon, Scott!
Disappointed , but I'm sure he is getting the best of care for his injury. Here's hoping it's not a serious one and that he's back up and ready for the rest of the season. It's probably a very wise choice not to compete even with a minor injury (if it is minor). Fingers x'd.
Please God don't let it be serious.
I am thinking he must have gotten injured in practice, hopefully it is nothing serious and he can be ready for Skate Canada. Better now than during the GP.
Oh no. Hopefully it's nothing too serious and he is able to have a good and speedy recovery.
I hope this is just minor and they're being cautious, but I have a bad feeling about this. If it were no big deal in the long run, it seems like they would have said what the injury is by now. They do have the worst luck.
ETA: I wish there was more information about the injury. I'm sitting here with my mind conjuring up worst case scenarios...
Hope Scott recovers soon.
Maybe its just the flu - which is going around in Ontario like crazy. They did say injury though....
pj kwong tweets: Turns out it was a late decision for V/M to withdraw from Finlandia - Scott has slight muscle strain in neck.

What?!! Can't believe this right now!!! I seriously just checked in to see if there would be practice reports I don't even know what to say I'm so sad!!! This is so unfair for them, they always have to deal with an injury every other year! Are there any details or anything? Did this happen in Finland? Whatever it is I hope he gets better soon and it wouldn't affect their next competitions. This totally just ruined my day !!!
ETA: Oops sorry marikat I just saw your post. This makes me feel a bit better, thank you.
Thanks PJ! Hope this mean they will be at SC soon!
I think it was a big stress for them -
Feel sad fro all there fans in Finland and russian fans, who will be there.
But this will be great competition and main thing - to see them healthy and ready at SC.
Russian fans could see them at CoR (if all with be OK) and at GPF. So hope things going well. So i hope fans from Finland could come to GPF or CoR.
Good to hear something. Hope it really is minor and they are just being overly cautious because of their experiences with Tessa´s injuries. Remembering Scott's reaction the last time they pulled out of a competition he doesn't take these things lightly. I really hope to see them at Skate Canada.
On the plus side, I'm less sad that I didn't buy last minute super expensive tickets to see them and Bobrova/Soloviev
