I wanted to save this title for around September, but "17 Seasons to Sochi" as it will be their 17th season together.

This thread really took a depressing turn. I'm not as convinced as the rest of you that it was off-ice that did it to them (and I think we're flailing if we blame National judging), but I also agree that if they want to win, they're going to need to do something a little bit more palatable. I do hope they tackle a senior B (Finnstep at Finlandia, anyone?). And I sorta hope Chan's disappointing season is a wake-up call to Skate Canada to redirect some of it's political acumen towards the greatest skaters their nation ever produced.

And I'm feeling up and happy about it! The competitive season is over and I am really thrilled with what V/M did. On to the next season! But take a break for spring gardening, summer pleasures and then start all over again in the fall. We're at that point where there isn't too much left to say in the season and speculation is rampant. I have no idea what's really going on behind the scenes and I don't think we will until somebody spills the beans years from now in a book! In the meantime, don't let anyone sap your skate-loving energy!

I like that title as well. but you are right you should save it for Sept. Maybe the title should focus on how its their 6th straight world medal? Some like "Winning world medals since 2008"

Sounds a bit too formal to me. I vote for Something in the way you move.

That is my vote as well! It seems quite relevant with CSOI coming up soon.

I don't know. It seems a bit incomplete. How about "Something in the way you move makes me feel like I can't live without you" or is that too long?

Anyways I hope that Tessa and Scott bring back their 2010-2011 twizzles for the "round and around and around we go" part of stay

How about "Something in the Way They Move".

I haven't been around hardly....just finished curling season: mine and watching all the pros. Now it's over and gardening season will begin (if we ever get some warmer weather); however, I an my sweetee are looking forward to seeing them at SOI Kingston (on ice seats :)). I'll try to get my teflon brain working long and hard enough to give a report......I'm anticipating seeing what they've done with "Carmen" for a show program. They will be here on the 23rd of April. The seats we had at Worlds were pretty far away, so this will be an improvement for sure.

How could a fan like me could suggest a music for Virtue-Moir programs? Maybe my idea is not very good, but at least, I will like to share with their coaching team!

Maybe others know of a way, but I have to say that probably it won't matter much since Marina said that she already has ideas for their and Meryl/Charlie's music, and apparently Tessa and Scott have started working on their SD with a dance choreographer. It can be that they have also worked on the FD. Probably not, but it is quite clear that they already know what they want to do.

Yay! I hope they see your blog series. I really do. In the meantime SOI starts on Friday. I've been listening to Stay on a loop in my car and I pretty much have the lyrics memorized now. I can't rmr how fast we got videos from the Halifax show last year, but I rmr it being rather quick. Anyways excited to see the new EX. Do you guys think Tessa will have a new dress for the show version of Carmen?

Pezazz, the link doesn't work for me either.

I think Tessa will use one of her competitive dresses. :) I think the old one ;)
Cant waite to see them in group numbers, new exibition and how "Carmen" will look in show.
I know, they will never use this song, but maybe if they will skate in shows after retierment they could use it.

Welcome Tweak, teaspoon, tinypawsxxoo, Geh and all other new members!

Thank you so much for the links, DaiKozOda and everyone else who posted them! I thought the comparisons with the pics and gifs were fascinating and I really appreciate people taking the time to do that. The analyses were so thoughtful and in depth and I sure learned a lot. Big thanks for that!

iggie, I agree with all the superlatives used to describe your articles. I so appreciate you taking the time to go through those sources and write such detailed and intelligent pieces. I especially love your deconstruction of the narrative constructed around/about Carmen.

I am thrilled they are skating to Stay because i have wanted them to take on this piece from the first time I heard it. It is my favourite RiRi song, (imo, an artistic breakthrough for her), and i think the irregularities and pauses (like the "sa--ving" part) are moments that V&M, the brilliant artists they are, can really exploit. They are the only ones who can do things like that.

pani, i could not access your video. Would you mind posting the name of the song? Thanks:)
