Russian Eurosport commentator said - we have a lot off teams, like D-W, but V-M - exlusive (he was Svetlana Alexseeva patner).
I am happy no histerical arround "Carmen" must win, like its was with last season D-W ;)

From Zoueva words its look like they couldnt leave her?

I'm watching the ISU live feed so no commentaries. Scott said it during kiss and cry when they were replaying their moves in slow mo so I'm not sure if you can hear it with broadcast feeds with commentaries.

I am thrilled to heat them say that they will continue to push for Sochi and they are on the road to explore new art forms and not looking back! Maybe they should take a speed skater out to dinner and put out an article saying they worked with speed skaters to improve their speed if you know what I mean... It worked for Meryl and Charlie on "improving" their connections and get better PCS this season...

Just because Zoueva said she has music already picked out for her teams, doesn't mean that they can't leave her. At least in my mind, one thing does not preclude the other. Just another way of looking at things because a year ago, who would have thought that Igor & Marina would have split up?

alright guys here what i thought:

So i went to practice and tessa seemed nervous i'm not going to lie. This was one of those times that scott was calming her down instead of vice-versa. I competed as a gymnast for years and I know nerves and stress. She messed up her first twizzles but got it in the program. Scott is a very interesting character live. At the time of competition, their warmup was great. They just got out there and did there thing, went through twizzles and diagonal ss. Scott seemed to do a nice pep talk before they were called out . BTW tape was to cover laces. The crowd was so loud and there were some times in the program that even I couldn't hear the music. Everything was attack and the programed got better as time went by. They didn't get their levels on the step sequences because I actually saw some unclean edges because i was staring at their blades lol. I had a back view of them so it definitely was not obvious in any way to the normal or even seasoned viewer. Their smiles at the end of the program was the reason I was so calm driving home :). They seemed so relieved especially tessa. the crowd was nuts. When they got the scores, they were releived i think. They obviously might have wanted a little higher but that was a accomplishment anyhow. They actually sat there in the KC for a bit as scott just layed back and tessa stretched out her legs. They got up left and we didnt see them till medal ceremony. When they were getting ready for MC, both V/M and D/W hugged and congratulated each other although scott intiated it first. on the podium scott held his silver medal up proudly and the top two teams seemed very chatty at the top of the podium. It was hilarious when the flowers were about to be handed out to the god medalists and instead the women messed up and nearly gave it to tessa first! she fixed it and gave it to meryl but the crowd was laughing :) scott and tessa seemed to just be and did not care about their placements, truly. They skated around, took pictures, took more pictures with meryl and charlie and the coaches and then talked with some volunteers and SC officials. Scott and tessa went out and high-fived all the little girls and boy (flower collecters?) i don't know what the official name is. all in all i was so happy to see them happy and so happy to see an amazing performance. I sat next to the skaters seating so i saw tessa and scott's teamates wave the flag and support!!! Kevin reynolds seems to be the most patriotic haha.

Yup both Tessa and Scott looked extremely relieved and smiling all around with good spirit. Both of them joked around with both Charlie and Meryl on the podium and laughing. I think they are happy with their performance.

Also, B/S were awesome and i love their facial expressions! would love to see them on the podium in sochi as well as W/P. So emotional!! love those too. As far and P/B goes, there were some mistakes but i love those two. Fabian was not happy and walked off the K/C after their heard their placements. i don't blame him

awesome post, PEZazzz! Thank you for sharing that with us. heartbroken for Nathalie and Fabian. I wonder if he might have been in some pain. He is still injured and that performance had to have been taxing on his groin.

That probably and they were thinking a little too much. The biggest problem was with the spin. I didn't what was happening there. But their french teammates were certainly loud for them! Fabolie is Fabian's new name people!

Also wow i feel like an idiot, i did not think that that was scott's rawr at the begininng. This guy can scream holy crap it was loud! no microphone needed.

I don't think that is fair. For whatever reason v/m have struggled all season but davis and white haven't. They have 2 different styles i must say i loved seeing carmen live today but can hardly wait to watch my tspe.

i think tessa might have felt more nervous than usual before the FD, so scott decided to do that loud growl to push tessa on ;)

D/W had no reason to struggle, they have a program that has a number of elements that they have recycled from other programs. Less elements to learn = easier program to skate, not as difficult to add expression when there isn't as much to learn. V/M however started late cause Carmen was supposed to be their SD initially but that got changed to the FD so both of their programs got a late start. Both their programs are full of new elements that have been changed, tinkered and at times totally revamped. When you're busy still learning the elements, it takes a bit longer to get the expression right. I thought V/M did amazing and think the wrong team won the FD.

I was thinking he may have walked out of the K&C due to the pain? I agree with you, they were overthing due to the missed training time. I hope they bounce back soon. I'm also happy for B&S. I loved their FD

The only place V/M have struggled and D/W didn't was on paper, in the marks, and those marks did not reflect what the two teams actually did. Those marks reflected politics, plain and simple. Of course, at the beginning of the season it was going to take V/M awhile to learn their program because they were doing somehing new with all new elements. D/W did what was basically the same program for the fifth year in a row.

lol, i love walei's idea about consulting with a speed skater;)

speaking of speed, i have to say that I just don't get how V/M do what they do. They can stop on a dime, and gain speed instantaneously. They vary their speed better than any other team, which indicates the utmost control over their blades and their entire bodies. AMAZING

Oh oh oh, we have some really good short track skaters here in Canada. Seem to recall they won gold medals in Vancouver and are winning some this season on the circuit. This young man would be my choice for teaching them.

Thanks pezazz for your thoughts on the FD and Ioana on the press conference. I've had some time to cool down, but I'm still so very upset. I want Tessa and Scott to leave Canton so bad; I wish and want it with every fiber of my body. Not necessarily because they lost, but because we can see how this "rivalry" is starting to affect them. It's not good that their closest rivals know everything about them. I can't help feeling that D/W knew how much pressure Tessa and Scott have been under (and I think they even alluded to it in a new article). I also want them away from Marina--don't even get me started on why.

Just rewatched the FD... so many things to love not just the performance itself,

Scott's pep talk, Tessa's wink at Scott right before they take their starting position, Tessa's SMOKIN' new dress, Scott's ROOOOARRRW, the stability of their lifts, the intensity of their facial expressions during the footwork... and my favorite of them all, Tessa delivered the bitch stare that could give SkaryBabs a run of her money.

Even though it's not the result Tessa and Scott and the fans were hoping for, it's still a performance they can be proud of!

Amazing is the perfect word for it. So much control there to be able to do all of that.

I love how they just build speed out of nothing and how much distance they cover with each stroke.

I'm glad they didn't because we would have missed out on Carmen. :)

I think this season is just a bump in the road for them. Assuming everyone stays healthy, Tessa and Scott are going to come roaring back next season. They have too much fight in them not to.

I meant leave Canton, not the sport! I think we could've still had Carmen, if they had chosen to work with Swan. It's totally unlike other Marina programs.

ITA with the second paragraph. :)

:cheer: This is the program that will stand the test of time as the best thing to come out of ice dance in 2013. Sometimes it just takes time and reflection for people to see greatness, it isn't always recognized as it's happening because people don't always get what they are witnessing. I realized that myself years after 2002 Pairs when I finally looked at B&S's program with new eyes.

Carmen is the :rockstar: of 2013. ROARRRR indeed!
