and even the portuguese care!
Yay new thread for the offseason!
I wonder if we can get 10% of it to be not about music selection and conspiracy!
Thanks for open new thread
Clarie, i am sure many people respect Canada and Canadians.
And Canadian skaters have something special in skating skills
It may be the off season, but I am hoping for some good interviews, video clips, pictures, etc from Stars On Ice. Can't get over what a great cast it is... mad there are not more shows in Quebec!
nooooo i adore conspiracy it's part of my personality
Their WTT EX on youtube:
Can I add that I just love this program and how much they smile in it! But at the start I had to laugh, these are the only two that could have some somewhat sultry moments skating to "aint no mountain high enough" ...in that dress no less!
thanks for opening the new thread, martyross! great title!
maybe Emdee and anyone else lucky enough to attend the spring shows can give us some stuff to chat about
Loved the EX program. It looked far more polished than at Worlds. Tessa absolutely shines and boy can they both "move it".
It's kind of funny that the Canadians feel tip toey in certain realms of the skating fanwars blogosphere. I think it is a unfamiliar spot to find ourselves in. I feel so lucky to have been born and raised and educated a Canadian. Especially as an avid traveller, it is apparent to me that we are a rather well liked people and I'm never prouder than when I am abroad.
Erm, yes, very grand generalizations. So capping it off, capping it off.
Golly we moved through thread 16 fast. And it was great seeing just how many people were contributing to the conversation. Thanks for starting the new thread and the lovely title Martyross.
We had so many ideas for next season in old therad
This is really interesting, what Tessa mean, when she said they want to try something new? And what coaches want for them to the next season?
I remeber, Jeff Buttle did a lot off work with music - he found new music, cuted music for new programs. I think Tessa is a good friend with Jeff, he could help them. I like his exibition for Patric.
Yay for the new title (and for the Portuguese)
I liked the Ex. number this time. Much better. I even like the dress now.
Crazy, weird and wonderful season capped off perfectly with a World title, despite the naysayers. Really looking forward to the off season and what is to come for the pre-Olympic season. Can't believe it is coming up already.
And CSOI will start April 27 - T-S will not have time for rest and poishing new ex (i think they still need to work on skating in music, but good dancing on one place, they really could be great ballroom dancers).
Will Zueva stop yo use ballroon style for her teams?

I really hope so. It's time she did.
I love the new ex and I think it looked better than at Worlds, especially the beginning. They'll polish it at CSOI as they go along. I bet it will get better with each outing.
I would like them to chose "Inní mér syngur vitleysingur" to hear it announced by TV commentators
I just finished watching "The Island" and heard some very nice music and extremely uplifting and powerful.
Here's an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHuTxNIpdeM. It's Lincoln's song
There were others in that movie...I think Nessum Dorma was in there too.
Let's not forget these.
I Can't Quit You Baby
You Shook Me
and anything else mentioned in the blues vein that I'm forgetting.
That is so weird I could have sworn that was from the Avatar soundtrack lol. But anyways I love it, it's one of my favorite movie scores. What kind of program could be created with that score in mind, something whimsical?
Could there be a separate thread for music preferences? IMO these have nothing to do with the actual team of V/M, it's more about fans talking about the music they like.
thanks for using my title suggestion, martyross
the music is so beautiful. maybe i'll do a music suggestion post
wow, that was fast (another thread). i missed the whole WTT discussion towards the end of the last thread.
i think there are already a couple of music suggestion threads, or do you mean one specifically for V/M?
I sort of agree, It almost seems that after Weaver and Poje used music from a fan everyone wanted to be the next to suggest music to their favorite team... I have felt this way at times, but am beginning to be overwhelmed by all the suggestions and skipping posts on all threads about it...I trust Tessa and Scott will come up with something they love
no, i mean a post on my blog, http://compulsorydances.blogspot.ca/
need ideas for the off season.
I, as established, like the idea of a specific genre of dance program. I'd offered some examples of the sort of music that would work with that genre. I have certainly not expected V/M to hear or have any desire to utilize a fan's suggestion (I'd rather expect the opposite, actually). But I will refrain from again visiting that discussion topic.
Let it beee, let it beeee,
Let it beee, let it be!
Whisper words of wisdom, let it beeee.
we always suggest music after each season.
anyway, it is a way to just enjoy music, but it allows me to see where tessa and scott could push themselves and grow. inevitably people express frustration over v/m's music choices, or disdain, so it's nice to have some perspective about what kinds of music those fans actually want tessa and scott to skate to. or what kind of music is actually interesting to us.
if anything, we realized how important it is to pay attention to what fans deem to be amazing music because we've seen tessa and scott struggle with music that really alienated audiences and prompted polite applause. it made the season unnecessarily hard and left a beautiful program, for the most part, unappreciated. in fact, i keep track of kudos on my blog -- so those moments when commentators gush over v/m's performances. for the english-speaking commentators, by the end of the season, i had nothing much for the free dance. even the eurosport guys had little in the way of praise. they praised i wanna hold your hand more than they did funny face.
i don't expect 100s of posts of music selection but it is worthwhile and those expectations, the visions we individually have, will play a part in how we appreciate (or don't appreciate) next season's free dance. we're not going to get it or love it, just because it's tessa and scott's free dance.
ok...but would you post a politically incorrect polka (as a dare and for the fun of it), or worry that that would invite more hatred towards V/M
btw, love your blog.
I love you blog too, Iggie. Thanks so much for doing it... I just love more factual information than speculation/fan-fun...just my opinion!
