No coaching change for Cannuscio/McManus. They've just taken the opportunity to attend part of the dance camp that Dubriel/Lauzon offer in Montreal.

Anyone here planning to attend the Chesapeake Open in Laurel, Maryland for the dance events? I believe ice-dance.com will have coverage from the competition. :)

    McNamara/Carpenter*
    Biechler/Dodge*
    Wren/Shchepetov
    Becker/Becker
    Gropman/Somerville*
    Thomas/Martin*
    Day/Leahy
    Sletten/Verburg (GBR, reportedly)
    Carreira/Ponomarenko (new)
    Avaz (RUS)/Gudis (new)
    Lucas/Yerzhanov (new; KAZ, reportedly)
    Pogrebinsky/Benoit (new; SD only)
    Gourianova/Petrov (new; SD only)

    * = currently listed in USFS' ISP

Junior Free Dance (14 teams registered) - Saturday, June 21, 2014 9:37 AM start time in Resor Rink
    11 teams above plus:
    Pascoe/Jaffe
    Raikovskaia (RUS)/MacMillan (new)

A separate competition thread can be started in the Kiss and Cry forum for results, photos, etc. if there's interest? Or the general thread for U.S. Club Competitions can be used.

I'm thinking about attending. What part of Laurel (Prince George's, Anne Arundel or Howard County) is the rink in? I can get to Laurel in about 15 minutes from my house.I live in Odenton, near Fort Meade (in Anne Arundel County). I usually take Route 198 or the BW Parkway into Laurel.

I'll be there! I plan to get there Friday in time for the Junior SD (and then watch my clubmate compete in Intermediate Men right after) and I'll be there Saturday from 8 to 4, hopefully watching the Novice and Junior FD and maybe some other events in between handing out medals upstairs and any other random tasks that crop up.

OrioleBeagle, The Gardens is at the PG/Mont county line, just inside PG. You can take Rt 198 and then turn (I believe it's a left, from your direction) onto Old Gunpowder Rd. The rink is about a mile down the road on the right. Maybe I'll see you there? :)

I can't find a schedule for the Chesapeake Open. Does anyone know what times the Juniors will be skating? I really can't stay there all day. Also, is it free to get in?

Wow! That's an awesome lineup for junior dance at that competition! Would be fun to attend. Sadly a 3,000 mile trip to watch a dance competition is not in the budget this year :p

He's living with Igor and his family.

Didn't see this coming! Aldridge/Eaton seemed to be doing very well with the Krylova/Camerlengo group. I wonder why the switch. Increasing competition from Hawayek/Baker?

Wished A/E had gone to Igor instead.

I thought she was a real pistol (a good thing) and perhaps even stronger than he. I wonder if she has decided to concentrate on singles. Anyone know if Sarah Feng has a new dance partner?

Maybe they worked primarily with Massimo before and they wanted the opportunity to do that again. Guessing that the success H/B played a role in the decision as well

I wasn't thrilled with A/E's last season programs, and thought they were a real misfire, especially the Bollywood FD. Maybe the visions of coaches and skaters just weren't on the same page.

Well that makes the 3rd team to announce Carmen as their SD (with B/S and I/Z). I know some people are about to complain, but I loove Carmen! :D And IMO these programs have got to be better than last season, so that's a step up.

I love that they felt the need to add that qualifier.

"We didn't just choose "Carmen!", we thought about it really seriously, and then chose "Carmen!"

Carmen and The Godfather? Choreographed by Marina Zueva? I hope that there will be at least some creativity to that.

I think this news kills my hope that Sinitsina & Katsalapov would also be skating their SD to "Carmen" so we could have a showdown of ex-partners' Carmens at Rostelecom Cup. :p
