^^ Love both, but I'll go with rock gardens.

As to #26, I think Aniston/Pitt/Jolie and Reynolds/Fisher/Taylor are the most notorious H'ywood love triangles, but the most devastating have got to be those in which one person died as a direct or indirect result, and that includes:

Walker/ Jones/ Selznick as well as Wagner/ Wood/ Walken. Both Robert Walker and Natalie Wood died prematurely, albeit accidental deaths. The Walker/ Jones/ Selznick triangle was particularly devastating for Walker since Selznick was such a powerful film mogul. Interesting to view the Selznick-produced 1944 film, Since You Went Away, in which Walker and Jones emote in a heartbreaking art resembles life scene. It's sad but worth reading, Starcrossed: The Story of Robert Walker and Jennifer Jones. Also devastating was the Bertrand/ Voight/ Pickren triangle since it reportedly led to Bertrand keeping her baby daughter Angelina isolated from maternal contact and normal social interaction for many months because little Angie looked too heartbreakingly similar to her Dad, Jon Voight. Angelina of course grew up to become involved in another triangle, but I wouldn't call that one "devastating" since all parties involved seem to have survived and thrived.

Also of course Diana/ Charles/ Camilla, both devastating and notorious.

The Children's Hour ETA: Oh no, I mean Julia is more tedious! And I would pick The Children's Hour to watch over Julia.

Hey, re #42 to each their own, Spacey's good, he's d**n good and he deserved BSA Oscar for The Usual Suspects, but hands down or feet up re comparing the two cited performances in respective films, GOTTA BE RUSSELL CROWE in LA Confidential!!! :cheer: :swoon: :inavoid: BTW, lest it be forgotten (heh, heh) Spacey also appeared in LA Confidential as the "flashy" detective, but Russell Crowe as the smoldering cop, Bud White, d**n near burned up the scenery and stole the movie, even from love interest, Kim Basinger, as well as from his outstanding fellow Aussie, Guy Pearce. Yeah, yep, yessiree ... Russell Crowe, back in da day!!! :encore:

I admire Kevin Spacey a lot, but it def shoulda been DENZEL Washington winning the 1999 BA Oscar as The Hurricane rather than Spacey for his role in American Beauty. IMHO!!! Even awesome Russell Crowe woulda deserved it for The Insider that same year over Kevin Spacey's good but more self-reflective and generic performance.

Oh thank you for that review, it was entertaining and informative. I have to go with The Last Runaway, and Paris: The Novel.

The David Sedaris book of essays, (not on your list) also sounds intriguing. Stephen King is too eerie for me. I've seen several of his movie adaptations, but I've never read any of his books, altho' I know he is a very good writer (I've read some of his reviews/ essays). And, what-up with all the YA dystopia crapola!? I know, I know ... this stuff sells like hotcakes.
