Many top 10 finishers in their First Olympics developed to win the OGM in their next Olympics (I may be slightly off in their exact placement when they finished in the top 10). Interestingly many of them finished in the 4-6 range, with 5 being the most frequent placement Ice dance: Torville & Dean - 1980 Oly 5th place; OGM in 1984 Grishchuk & Platov - 4th(?) in 1992; OGM in 1994 Navka & Kostomarov- 10th in 2002; OGM in 2006 Anissina-Peizerat - 3rd in 1998; OGM in 2002 (D&W could join this group by winning OGM in 2014) Men: Brian Boitano- 5th in 1984; OGM in 1988 Evan Lysacek -5th in 2006; OGM in 2010 Alexei Urmanov - 4th(?) in 1992; OGM in 1994 Viktor Petrenko - 3rd in 1988; OGM in 1992 Evgeni Plushenko - 2nd in 2002; OGM in 2006 (Patrick Chan could join this group by winning the OGM in 2014) I am wondering if Robin Cousins had competed in the 1976 Olympics (he won the OGM in 1980) Pairs: Berezhnaya-Sikharulidze- 2nd in 1998; OGM in 2002 Totmianina-Marinin - 4th in 2002; OGM in 2006 May be Belousova-Protopopov competed in 1960 ? and placed top 10? They won the OGM in 1964 (& 1968) Ladies: I can't think of anyone. Mao (2nd) and Mirai (5th) are the likely candidates in 2014 (Mirai may not even make it to the 2014 Olympics); I can't think of any lady that had a top 10 finish in her first Oly, and an OGM in the next. Any other examples?
