I wrote a new blog entry outlining why I think they should talk Dick Button into being the new ISU president: http://www.facebook.com/SkateGuard

    Warning: sense of humor required!

    Run, Dick, run!

That was brilliant. If nothing else I am sure you put a big smile on Uncle Dick's face.

Dick loves FS and talking about FS far too much to be the President of the ISU. :)

Thank you so much! Hahaha.. I think Dick is the best! Where would be without his wonderful charisma, sense of humor and passion for the sport?

Yeah, pretty sure a whole blog entry about Adelina Sotnikova's "Burlesque" FS is going to have to happen eventually. I haven't been that profoundly upset by a skating program since Viktor Petrenko skated to "I'm Too Sexy".

I think the worst thing about the program was the all of the vocals and the way the music was edited. I like the version of "At Last" she skated to and I thought that part of her program was nice. The uptempo part at the end is fun but the editing of the music is very bad. I think she and her team should have found an uptempo burlesque-like song to skate to rather than try to edit down a song with vocals to non-vocal parts.

    Very funny blog post.

But why did you link to your facebook where we then had to find the post, rather than just link to the blog?

I emailed it to Uncle Dickie himself. :) I bet he gets a kick out of it.

kwanatic - Agreed! That program's music was disastrously cut. She still could have gone in a vampy/burlesque mood with any number of other pieces and avoided that mess of screeching.

Skittl1321 - I apologize if linking through Facebook wasn't easier for you, you can view blog entries directly at http://skateguard1.blogspot.ca.

manleywoman - Can't wait to hear what Doug thinks about it. :))

Message from Dick Button himself: "Thank you for the compliments and your doubts are 100% on the mark." Hahaha.. Made my day! Wishful thinking

Dick will be 84 in July. He probably would have been a good one when younger, but I wonder if he has the energy for such a large undertaking now. Also, He is spokesperson for the Brain Injury Foundation.

OT does anyone know what his children Edward and Emily do?
