    1. Morozov emoticon, as long as it showed him in all his greasy glory. Ugh, but that's reality. :scream:

By the way, I think this thread is rather US or NA orientated. There are many occasions when I simply cannot answer because I don't know what the question means, or because I've not had that US experience. :(

    2. I have no idea, Buzz, I'm afraid. :( Christian Bale might have been sexy - he looks sexy - but I never made my way to the local cinema to see him.

If Michelle Kwan had never been born, would you be thrilled to bits that Lipinski and Hughes had managed to secure Olympic Gold for the USA? ;)

No. But that sort of language gives me a visceral headache, if you get my meaning.

What does a "partridge in a pear tree" mean?

    Nothing
    It's nicely alliterative
"A bee in a pear tree" would be more meaningful
    Bloody Christmas - I can't wait until it's over

I'll look forward to my work as Deputy PM, Secretary for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and also Secretary of State for International Development. I'm sure we can make a better job of things than the current shower we have at the moment.

The Lake District (but not in summer, as it's much too crowded).

What makes any particular flower beautiful?

    The colour of its petals
    The shape of its petals
The shape of the flower as a whole
The way the stem holds the flower(s)
The cluster of flowers on a stem (if applicable)
The variation of colour in a petal
The sepals, stigma, style and pollen
    Petals are beautiful
    All of these
    All of these, plus _________
    Something else
    No interest in flowers

I live on a somewhat secluded ranch, so few would see them if we bothered putting anything up.

The former, though I know that permanent exile to some rocky, gray-landscaped hinterland would be the price of choosing that infernal errand.
