As I am only 52, here are some things that I would still like to do in my life (and, no, they don't all have to be big, epic things.)

    Live in Japan
Visit the Anne Frank House & her home on the Merwedeplein
    Visit Auschwitz/Birkenau :(
    Learn to play the piano
    Learn to fence
    Work in a florist shop
    See Plushy skate live :D
Get dressed in a beautiful kimono
    Cruise the Greek islands
    Live next door to Disneyland
Cook fried potatos without having them totally stick to the bottom of the pan!

    What about you...?

I've done that. Probably one of the most important and devastating things I've ever done. I still get chills and tear up when I think about it, many years later. Knowing about, reading about, seeing photos of what happened there is bad. But, actually being there. Seeing the different buildings and their contents. Walking in the footsteps of so many who were murdered - it's just numbingly horrifying.

As for something I would like to do, I would like to live in Tuscany and travel around Europe at my leisure. These things don't have to be things we could actually ever do? Right?

Have a huge bathtub and great bathroom. Perfect for 5 hour baths complete with candles, champagne and a supply of paperback books. Apartment bathtub doesn't quite cut it.
    Learn to play the violin
    Take voice lessons
Retire now, leaving lots of time in the day for skating while everyone else is at school or work
    Live on a houseboat
Buy a house on the lake.
Travel around the world to experience opera in differing settings.
But greatest fantasy :shuffle:. Get to put on my skates and stand on the ice near the boards for even 10 minutes of an elite Mens Practice session. To feel the speed and power and be on that side of the boards would be a dream come true.

Win Powerball so that I can do all the things I listed above.

Nubka - Anne Frank house is very worth visting. I went as an adult, and could not believe how much of the book (read in jr hight) just popped up in my memory. I did go to Dachau also, and though sad/horrific, as a citizen of the world, it was something to see and reflect on. I am not sure how to word it, but it was a place one should go and pray/acknowledge.

Just renovated the master bath (the shower was leaking). And we just ripped out the Jacuzzi, because in 25 years, I think we used it 4 times. Put in a make-up/vanity area instead.

 :yikes: :(. When I had more time, I used to stay in the tub for hours at a time. I had a great old bathroom in KCMO. Deep, deep tub with a window over the middle of it. I used to love to open the window in the winter and fill the tub with hot water. Candles, classical music and that cold fresh air pouring in. Those were the days. :)

I want to see my children and their families happy and comfortably settled.
I want to dance at my granddaughters' weddings, should they get married.
I want to dance on my 50th wedding anniversary (which could possibly be around the time a granddaughter gets married?).
    Anything after that is gravy.

There's about three things left on my "bucket" list that I haven't done yet. One is skydiving. I had the opportunity to do it when I was in my early 30's. I decided not to jump out of the plane because a weird feeling came over me that my parachute wouldn't open when it came time to pull the ripcord. :p

The other 2 remaining things on my list.

    * Finally go to an actual live skating event hoping no one gets ill where I have to end up selling or giving away the tickets again.

    * Go to Paris, climb the Eiffel Tower and end the day with a champagne glass filled with Dom Perignon.

I can't think of anything else at the moment because I've accomplished the other things on my list which included visiting every southeastern & southwestern state from Florida to California traveling by car. :)

I have already had a wonderful life and accomplished most of my goals, but still have some dreams:

    - transition to my 2nd career before age 50 (part way there already, I have loved my current career in social work/therapy but ready for a change) - either management position at the college or my own private practice.
    - drink a nice glass of red wine from our villa (rented) in Tuscany (doing it in July for our 25th wedding anniversary) :D
    - bunjee jump when I'm 50 (I survived sky diving already)
    - learn to scuba (a fear for me) :yikes:
    - get a tattoo :p
    - see penguins in their natural habitat (I love penguins)
    - eat my favourite food (sushi) in Japan
    - buy another boat (when no longer paying tuition fees)
    - sail my own boat to the Caribbean
    - go to Sochi, hopefully watch my daughter compete (not figure skating  ) but if not the two of us have an amazing adventure
    - go to Hawaii, use those new scuba skills :p
    - watch our daughter graduate from vet school, make us some grand babies :shuffle:
    - either move or have the house renovated so i can have a large soaker tub as I love baths..
    - last one.. be a size 12 again and get a whole new wardrobe (was a size 16 but almost now into a size 14).

Now just need to win the lottery to pay for all of this :shuffle:

I have an ex-husband who easily fits that description… care to borrow him? :p

    ********

My Middle-Age Bucket List of things to see and do (if I had the time and the :bribe: to accomplish them  ):

    - See MiniCyn not only graduate from college, but also to see her fulfill her dreams wrt her career

    - create and nurture a Victorian English garden :encore:

    - Go on the Band of Brothers Historical Tour, which follows Easy Company's path through Europe, from Aldbourne, England and Normandy (traveling through WWII historical locales in England, France, Holland, Belgium, Germany (visiting most of the battle sights, memorials, museums, etc.), to Berchtesgaden (The Eagle's Nest), and ending in Zell am See, Austria.

    - Similar to Numbers and the Cubs, see the Atlanta Falcons win the Superbowl (in memory of my Dad), the Thrashers win the Stanley Cup, and the Hawks win teh NBA Championship

    - Take a motorcycle tour through England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales

    - Live without chronic pain

    - Write a snarky satire book about parenting (from "Sperms, meet Ms. Egg…..Ms. Egg, meet, er….everyone" through kicking them out of the house when they're an adult.

Visit Russia, Poland (including Auschwitz), Germany, Italy, Greece, the Czech Republic, the Countries in Scandinavia, especially Norway,

    - Attend one of Germany's kickass Industrial/EBM festivals and dance my ass off while in total nopryde

    - Meet many, many of the FSUers i've come to know online over the past nine years

    - Find all of the socks my dryers ate over the past thirty years

    - Tour the Grand Prix from start to finish.

There are many more, but I'm too tired to think of all of themright now.

I'm 34 and still have a lot I want to accomplish:

    Travel the world:
    walk the streets of Rome
    explore Egypt
walk through Versailles as graceful as Marie Antoinette used to
climb up Mayan & Aztec pyramids
    visit Sergei Grinkov's grave
sip some tea while watching snow cover pagodas in Japan
    explore Australia
so many more places I want to see with my own eyes...

    I want to:
own a home, I'm talking completely paid off, no mortgage
have six pack abs (eh, don't know if I'll ever achieve THAT, lol)
skate on a cloud like Ekaterina Gordeeva
have time to make my own candles and soaps
see my kids grow up into wonderful adults, maybe even have their own families
slow dance in my hubby's arms at our 50th wedding anniversary.... just a bit over 38 more years to go!

Yes, there are still plenty of things I want to do before I go.

Our Jacuzzi was in front of a picture window. 2nd floor, but including the above ground basement in the back of the house, it is actually 3rd floor. All you can see are trees. But the window didn't open, the Jacuzzi was big and a pain in the butt to clean. All it did was collect dust, take up a lot of space, and we never used it. We are all shower people. We have a regular tub in the main bathroom, if we feel the need. Easier to clean! The new shower is awesome, it's doorless, I designed it. You go in and there is a little warm area with a heat lamp, then you turn into the shower. We put in a hand held shower spray and a rain head. And there are two corner seats. Can't wait for it to be completely done, so we can use it!
