Melanie is like Drew from last season's X-Factor. Same interpretation of every song. Why doesn't any judge point it out like LA Reid did to Drew?

i felt like drew had the capacity to let go now and then and change up her delivery. she just chose not too. i dont think melanie can do any more than what she does. plus the voice judges are nicer.

It doesn't matter to me that Melanie isn't that versatile. I think she does what she does well. Ditto for Nick.

I don't see what's special about Cassadee at all. There are plenty of girls out there with daddy issues. Some of them sing better than she does and have more artistry. But, for reasons that escape me, she's apparently the frontrunner.

I'm guessing that Trevyn and Terry are the ones going home tomorrow.

I'm sure tonight will yield some terrible results cause The Voice voting audience is the most wack of all these shows.

    1. Cassadee- giving her the win because it was a great job from top to bottom and I love Michelle Branch and she just totally pulled it off for me. She is playing this so right and her interviews are genuine and she comes off so much more likeable than most of the others. I don't think her voice is *that* crazy good but she's so versatile and it's good enough to win this.
    2. Terry- man, what a gorgeous voice he has. I bet he gets dumped tonight, cause this show hates me. It was a truly lovely performance for him, for me. For all of us! :)
    3. Amanda- sound great but sorta think she could get the boot for early start order and the overdone song choice
    4. Nicholas- sounded heavenly, but I actually nodded off during his song, which speaks to how entertaining I find him
    5. Dez- I kinda enjoyed it, but from the rehearsals I thought I would love it, and then the background was so loud and clangy I couldn't appreciate his singing much, he's kind of robotic when he talks, no?
    6. Melanie- She is kinda good and I do get the appeal, but if she had to compete with any substantial background she would completely disappear. So its a bit not fair that every week she gets to do stripped down arrangements. I'm losing interest. The original version/singer of this song is so awesome it's hard to compare.
    7. Cody- he's just good-ish karaoke and nothing more, not impressed, sorry. Still, he will likely make it through again this week as he has a good personality and picks good songs. Elliott Yamin is the singing comp boss of this song always and forever.
    8. Trevin- I am so over him and his crying and sweating and awful song choices. He sings very well but I can't take it anymore.

Let's just dump four tonight. I know the results are going to suck so we may as well move this thing along.

Dia did win on iTunes several times, but the rule about multiplying the votes for being in the top 10 on iTunes did not exist at that point.

ITA to all - as good as the last couple of weeks were, this was mostly ZZZZZZzzzzzzz. In fact, I didn't make it all the way through Trevan's song and turned it off - I will have to watch Nick and Casssssaaaaaaadddddeeeeee tonight. The only entertaining ones were Cody and Melanie so far. Right now, Nick or Melanie should win IMO.

I like Cody & I think he is entertaining & has a good voice but I'm not sure he fits into the pop scene. He seems like a Vegas performer to me. Terry started strong in this comp but he has limited himself by his song choices...he doesn't seem relevant or current to me, & I thought he was boring last night. Nick has performed all oldies too but it's not the same...he has so much soul in his voice that he just blows me away. And if Ceelo has a thriving career, why not Nick? Ceelo is as unattractive as Nick & that hasn't held him back.

Amanda irritates me for some reason and both she & Cassadee just don't seem good enough. I still wish Nicole was in this & it still annoys me that Adam threw her away for that mediocre prom queen who had one semi-good performance. Trevan's voice is fantastic but he would be much better for some training, better song choices, & a little more time. Dez - pretty face but too much lipstick - mediocre voice & also doesn't seem relevant to the current scene. I like Melanie a lot...I think she's could be a teen star if handled right.

Conclusion - if the winner is based on who has the best voice, performs the best, and is best at knowing who he/she is musically, I think Nick should win which is a huge turnaround for me as I thought no one would vote for him based on his looks. But I've voted for him every week since they went to the live shows. If Nicole was still in this I think I would be saying these things about her, plus she was very pretty. But with the current line-up I would rank them Nick, Melanie, Cody in how I think they should finish. If Terry doesn't go home tonight & comes out strong next week he could turn it around - he's got a great voice.

Nick's hair tonight scares me. It's a top knot I think? :scream:

Cassaaddee saved first. Now she can go hang in the skybox and act surprised.

The Muppets are everywhere. They were on GMA this morning. Pepe kept making passes at Lara Spenser and totally threw her off her marks.

    I love CeeLo's voice. :swoon:

Hmmmm....we know Melanie is safe based on itunes, which means both of Adam's singers go throuigh.

Three girls and three boys in top 6.

I thought that Cody would be able to pull out enough votes based on personality and because he's so different.

I guess XTina now knows that cultivating a pretty boy band image for a contestant and then having him sing old-school crooner style doesn't work well. Also, picking a bunch of pop divas the same season also doesn't work.

Have you seen the video of the Sesame Street take of The Voice? I stumbled on to it over at YouTube one day. It's a hoot and a half. They have everyone but Adam and the poor Carson Muppet keeps getting caught in the turning of the chairs. :D

Surprised Amanda's still around, as the last two weeks her voice has not endeared herself to anyone in this house. I guess America likes shrill screeching and combine that w/the Little Monsters that have to be voting for her just because she was a Gaga background singer...

Happy Nicholas got through. We really enjoyed him last night. Sad to see Cody go though, as I thought he did a pretty great job w/one of my favourite Queen songs.

Hey Blake, the reason why Terry's been in the bottom the last two weeks is due to the same ol, same ol. We want to see him do something different and that Terry has some range. Singing a modern rock song instead of a classic rock song isn't different. It's more of the same and he can do so much more. At least we think so judging from what this house thinks and what some of the posters here on the respective threads think. Sadly, I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever see it.

Really loved Cee Lo and Kermit. I need to record in a couple of hours on the Western side of things, as Mom fell asleep during the middle part of tonight's show and missed it.

As for who's the biggest diva Piggy or Christina...As Piggy said, does that even need to be answered? :D

I'll miss Cody, but I think Dez really went as far as he was going to go.

Right now, my two favourites are Nicholas and Terry. As much as I am frustrated over his choices of all Classic Rock, there's something about him I really like and I do enjoy his voice. I just wish he'd stretch things a bit is all.

I'd actually like to see Terry do a crooner standard--in Rhythm of Love, his voice is so smooth and pure. I really think he could do a more modern version of them than Dez has been doing. I wouldn't mind hearing him tackle Jason Mraz. They don't sound the same, but there's something similar in their singing style to me.

Unrelated to the results, I love the fact that Ceelo has kept his team in his life. That's so sweet. And I loved his duet with Kermit, but WTF was he wearing? Completely OTT. And I enjoyed the bit where Carson took everyone to the radio station. I think he's the best reality show host on TV.

I watched CeeLo's Xmas special on the TVGuide channel tonight. He really used the Voice contestants a lot. The way the mentors incorporate their teams into their shows is great. They don't have to do that. I'd forgotten how much I liked Nikita.

And we had Muppets. Muppets are always a good thing.

They haven't yet, but some of those Muppets are pretty feisty. I don't know if the people who do the voice overs are the same as the puppeteers to actually move the Muppets. Nor if Elmo's voice guy played any of the good Muppets. Rod Stewart's singing. CeeLo's dressed like Santa Claus without a beard.
