There are already posts in the AI thread about the new season of The Voice, premiering this Sunday after the Superbowl - but it deserves its OWN thread. YEAH!

Here's to another great season of Xtina's inappropriate costumes, Adam's canny strategy, Cee-Lo's strangely short arms, Blake's dissing of anyone who auditions with his or Miranda's songs, and a parade of singers more interesting and talented than we normally get on singing competitions. Plus Jordis Unga!!! (please?)

And, Kelly Clarkson and Miranda Lambert (Blake), Alanis Morrisette and Robin Thick (Adam), Kenny (Babyface) Edmonds and Ne-yo (Cee-lo) and Jewel and Lionel Richie (Xtina) are acting as mentors for each team.

I hope Xtina will sing At Last at some point like she did for Etta Jame's memorial.

And, annoying twitter girl has been replaced.

I find it fascinating which judge will turn around for which voice and if more than one, which one the contestant will select. There were some real surprises last season.

With Super Bowl kickoff at 6:30 ET, I expect The Voice to start about 10:30. I'm not familiar with the show's format, but am most looking forward to Kelly Clarkson's appearances.

Kelly is also singing the National Anthem before the game.

:cheer2: All of this, and more! So excited for Sunday's return.

:watch: The chair turning is :kickass: hella fun and exciting.

    Adam :grope: 'nuff said.

And, yes gen, hooray for another season of inappropriate Xtina outfits (and comments). Trashy :glamor: 4Ever!

The Voice and Sing Off are my favorite shows of this genre.

Is it wrong that when I saw this in my tivo, I was more excited about this than the Super Bowl?

    Yes, exactly. :D

IOW, the Xtina we know and love. :cheer:

For sooo many reasons, I've gotta choose to buy Camp Aguilera's explanation that said goop was tanning spray

I've never seen the Voice before, but am going to try it out. Though Carson Daly is a big fat negative.

My first time watching it too, how did she make her decision to go with Blake? Why does it matter it was him or Adam?

Ack!!!! Who did I miss. It started earlier than it was supposed to. I caught the blonde singing a Miranda song who chose Blake over Adam.

One thing, about Blake, his top 4 get to go on tour with him which is a nice bonus.

She was the first one rfisher

I didn't think I was going to like that girl (RaeLynn?)...too young, too AI-looking, too...just too. But MAN her voice is awesome! :respec: A lot more mature than I would have anticipated. No point in dragging out the decision though, since she made it clear before singing that she wanted Blake to turn around.

Yeah, singing Miranda is a pretty good clue  , although, sometimes that will make him not turn around.

last year Blake was really harsh on anyone who sang Miranda or his songs. I think maybe NBC had a little chat with him

Did a schoolgirl just sing a song about a sugar daddy?

She can sing. Blake usually doesn't like it when contestants sing Miranda's songs.

This is going to be fun seeing all the coaches fight over this guy. I hope they don't push the sob story too much. This shouldn't be like AI.

Wow. Within four beats, they all turned around, almost simultaneously.

C-Lo does have strangely short arms. I'm weirdly impressed by that. I wonder if he's ever dressed up as a T-Rex for Halloween.

Already this panel kicks the AI panel's butt.

If you want to get really drunk, drink whever Adam mentions that he won last year.

I liked Jesse but his lovely falsetto is a bit similar to Javier's.

He reminded me of Javier, too. I didn't Adam was a good choice for Javier, even though he won. I think Xtina would be his best choice.

At least the judges won't see his bowtie. He brought the ukelele, but isn't going to play it. You can hear the nervousness in his voice. He's not good enough.

This poor guy. I can hear the nerves in his voice, and he's under the pitch. This arrangement is boring.

ETA: HA! I knew they'd call him on his pitch.

OM Daniel sounds like Xenia took a few more lessons and came back. If this guy starts telling us to point to the left, watch out.

Aw. I liked Xenia. Her tone was much more interesting than this guy's. She had about the same confidence level, though, and even weaker stage presence.
