    Wood fire
    August 7th, 2010 JST

    By Cathy
Everybody, I am sorry so much to give you an anxiety for me.
    I am getting better today.
(translator's note: She felt out of sorts somewhat from a few days ago.)

This is thanks to the cheering of everybody!
    Thank you very much!

Although I heard that it had been already known by news,
Moscow is in terrible condition with the smoke now because the wood fires happened here and there by this abnormal weather.
As for more severe day, we need mask and sunglass.

Because my eyes are very delicate, I can not stop the tear because of smoke.

As for all persons who live in Moscow, it will be in terrible condition, won't it?
    (Please contain me within them!)

Let's bear up! Then, let's pray for it to rain!

    This was Cathy.

    Choking
    August 8th, 2010 JST

Chris: Because the smoke of wood fires is terrible, I'm going to choke!
The warning to go out of Moscow on this week end seems to have issued.

Cathy: It is 33 degrees centigrade in this room now. At last, we could not find an electric fan.in Moscow... We can not open the window, too.
As for the outside, visibility is very poor owing to the dense smoke.

Chris: There is a phone now from the coach who went to another country yesterday and we also seem to go out of Moscow.
(Translator’s note: Nikolai Morozov coach and Miki Ando are in Daugavpils in Latvia in Sunday)

Because the airport of Moscow is stopping the landing, the coach seems not to be able to return. I think that it seems to have to decide it as soon as we can, because it seems to be able to take off yet.

Cathy: Ha-ha. How far will a devil follow us to make us suffer???
Although we aren't doing any bad things!!!
Also, do we move in the other country? Ha-ha. My brain is going to be paralytic.

Chris: Hum! Will such an experience be necessary?

This is Cathy and Chris who are worry not only a little but also very much.

    I would like to return.
    August 8th, 2010 JST.

Chris: The situation is not too well.

Cathy: We attempted to change the date of a ticket for return to Newark of the round trip ticket, but were told that it costs $20,000-$200,000.
We bought the round trip ticket, but I cannot believe that it costs twice of the round trip ticket of Moscow-Newark for only changing the date.
Moreover, saying that there is not an empty seat until August 13th.

Chris: Because a window can't open because of the smoke, the room of the apartment filled with hot air is 33 degrees centigrade.
There are not an air con and an electric fan, and we already stayed here for 8 days.
Wanting to come out earlier from Moscow rather than wanting to return home.

Cathy: Today we planned to go for a training to the rink but didn't go because we could not become a feeling of walking to the station even if it was doing a much mask because the smoke was terrible.

Chris: It cannot contact with the coach.

    Cathy: ….

    Thank you for transkating, AkiraAndrea!

What terrible news. I hope and pray the situation in Russia will improve quickly. I wish I could donate some rains from Poland to Russia - here in my country many villages and cities are being destroyed by floods! :( What a scary summer!

    The changing of our destination
    August 8th, 2010 JST.

We can not keep the ticket to Newark.
There isn't the ticket to Newark till August 13th.
But we can’t wait till August 13th. .

We can’t contact with the coach, too.

So, changing our destination in haste, we decided to go to Mirano.

It is the flight of 20:25 in this night.

Although it is better if an airport isn't closed down...
The bad thing will not happen any more, any longer...

Yes, the bad thing must not happen any more for us.
    It cannot happen.

    Because we are good persons.

This was Chris who would like to go out of Moscow earlier.

Akira, can you please email Chris and Cathy, or post to their blog, that they do need to leave Moscow, and if they can't get a flight out, they should take a train to St. Petersburg - it's about a six hour train ride. There's little smog in St. Petersburg right now, and if they want to fly out from there, the airports are operating.

I know that it'll be an expense, but everyone that I know who's in Moscow right now is trying to get out. They tell me it's extremely bad there, and that the chances of being able to fly out of Moscow are not good right now.

If they need to, tell them to contact the US or Japanese embassy in Moscow for help.

I don't think they speak very much Russian.

I don't know what those people who arranged their move to moscow thought about when gave them the apartment without air conditioning. Temperature in Moscow didn't come down lower 30 C for last 1,5 months and last couple of weeks it's around 40C every day. Not a single rain since June. So you can only exist in air-conditioning space (which also somehow prevents fire smoke get into the building).

I think that they are disastrous.

    A blue sky
    August 10th, 2010 JST

Getting up in the morning in Milan, I found that I had forgotten that the sky is such a blue.
The sky of Moscow was gray. It was really gray. Therefore I had thought that the sky is gray.

Smoke is still left in my lung.
Therefore, I have the smell and the taste of the smoke still when doing breath.

The air of Italy is very clear.

How beautiful this blue sky will be!

    By Cathy

    The Photo:
This is a photo which we took of in the airport of Moscow!
It was full of smoke so that the opposite side of the street was veiled in smoke.

    Where will we go next???
    August 11th, 2010 JST.

Chris: The country of Europe where we went to for the first time, was Zagreb in Croatia where we went to participate to the "Golden Spin" of. When I told my friend about it, I was told, "Zagreb? Has such a country been in Europe?".

Now, to my surprise, the place where we go to next is Latvia!
    Where is Latvia, Cathy?

Cathy: Let me see…I think that it is north of Lithuania…
Because the north latitude is almost the same of Sweden, it will be cold extremely in winter, won't it?…
    Er?...Do we go there?!!!

Chris: Somewhat, we seems to be leading a wandering life, don't we?

Cathy: I would like to train composedly in one place.

Chris: I think that the effect which was gotten by the practice of one day today has a value of twice or 3 times of the effect which was gotten in the practice for 2 weeks in Moscow.

Cathy: That's for sure! I think so! I would like to be here as it is!

    Chris: …

Cathy: Now, after this, it is the off-ice training and the lesson of ballet which is Chris's favorite!

    Chris: Ballet?

    Cathy: Then, see you later!

The new program is secret yet!
    August 13th, 2010 JST

I am sorry! We cannot release it yet…

But if you saw "Dream on Ice", we insert the lifts which we performed in that show into new program.

Oh! But, these are not all of those.

If we insert all of those, I think nothing of it at all because I am strong enough for it, but Chris will be exhausted extremely!

Because I think that we can release it to everybody within 2 weeks or 3 weeks, please look forward to it!

We arranged an airline ticket for Latvia today…

We go to Latvia as expected, don't we?

    This is Cathy.

    The quarrel between siblings
    August 13th, 2010 JST

Cathy: At first, as for the Japanese word "kyou-dai" corresponding to "sibling", it seems to be meaning of "elder brother and younger brother" strictly speaking, doesn’t it? Then, as for the case of elder sister and younger brother, I hear that there is the other word for calling it. As for the case of elder brother and younger sister, there is the other word. As for the case of younger brother and younger sister, there is the other word. And…

Chris: I like one in English more than one in Japanese.

Cathy: Ha-ha. By the way, as for this "quarrel between siblings", everybody seems to think for Chris and me to be on very good terms, but it is not always so! Of course, it is not always on bad terms, too!

Chris: As for the character of Cathy and me, they are different each other as if they are oil and water, but as for the style of skating, they are same.

Cathy: It was good, wasn’t it?

Chris: Oddly enough, as for the character between my younger sister, Allison and me, both resemble closely, but as for the styling of skating, both are entirely different!

Cathy: It was good, wasn’t it?

Chris: As for our quarrel, I think that We clash with each other because we have a desire to improve ourselves. As for the ice dance teams, the teams of siblings are quite many, but I don't know whether all of them are on good terms or do nothing but quarrel.
Recently, our quarrel decreased, didn't it?

Cathy: In our childhood, we often used to quarrel because we would like to sit on the front passenger seat of the car, didn't we?
When we began an ice dance, too, we used to quarrel as for which of the waltz or the tango we should do first, don't we?

Chris: In English, to push a button is meaning to anger a person.
Then, because Cathy and I know the way of pushing the button each other, at once, the quarrel must happen.

Cathy: However, we don't quarrel now, because we are practicing much comfortably in this place, beautiful Schilpario in Italy!

    The article:
    http://ameblo.jp/reed-icedance-blog/entry-10618104479.html

    Reference:
    Schilpario in Italy on wikipedia
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schilpario

    Translator’s note:
"kyou-dai" in Japanese is the pronunciation of "kanji or Chinese character" of the origin of China.
Usually, we can call all kind of sibling as "kyou-dai" in Japan.

But, strictly speaking, it is as follows.
In kanji, the following pronunciation are coincident to the word in English each other.

"kei" or "kyou" is elder brother
"tei" or "dai" is younger brother
    "shi" is elder sister
    "mai" is younger sister

    Therefore, strictly speaking,
As for the case of elder brother and younger brother, we call them as "kyou-dai" or rarely as "kei-tei".
As for the case of elder brother and younger sister, we call them as "kei-mai".
As for the case of elder sister and younger brother, we call them as "shi-tei".
As for the case of elder sister and younger sister, we call them as "shi-mai".
As for the case of elder brother and elder sister, we call them as "kei-shi".
As for the case of younger brother and younger sister, we call them as "tei-mai".
As for the case of elder brother, younger brother, elder sister and younger sister, we call them as “kyou-dai-shi-mai”.

Excuse me for repeating myself but, usually, we can call all kind of sibling as "kyou-dai" in Japan.

    Here is Latvia…
    August 16th, 2010 12:00 JST

The airport of Latvia is three hours away from capital Riga in Latvia.

Oh! We must go by car again!

The person who came for us was very good person and seemed to like Asia.

He wore a black jacket which a golden tiger was drawn! Horrible!

Because there is a lot of green, it is beautiful, but, if this condition continues for three hours because the road is rough too much, the hip seems to get to have a pain.

Also, I will do a blog from the city.

    This was Cathy.

Maybe they were taken by car to Daugavpils directly, where Morozov is now located, and didn't even know that? :)
