I had Caite's headband when I was in 7th grade. That was in 1982.

At least the Cowboys chose the right task. We'll see how this speedbump goes. Yeah. At least they're back on track.

Little brothers and Steve and Allie in trouble. They're already exhausted from running and they still have to do the detour.

I wonder how long Steve and Allie really tried that first task. If it was that fast, they are going to kick themselves after starting that other one.

And do they have the wrong number of poles?

I thought it was great, with a major change in the order of the teams, exotic local, some lost cabs, stressed out racers, etc.

Jet and Cord were awesome. Didn't let the loss of their first cab get them down, rocked the detour and roadblock and won a nice romantic trip to Maui. Hope they decided to let Cord use the trip on his upcoming honeymoon!!

My favorite part of the episode was 'hey, let's get out of the taxi in blistering heat and run aimlessly'.

I'd love the 'models' to go next. Have they ever referred to Carol and Brandy as anything other than 'the lesbians'? Not like C&B call them 'the vapid worthless idiots'.

I really don't like the heat, so that stage would have been horrible for me. Carrying those heavy incense sticks up tons of stairs in blistering heat - ugggggghhhh!

:respec: to the cowboys!!! They seem to have snapped out of whatever funk they were in and are back to normal!

:( to see Steve/Allie go, they really had a tough day.

This is one of the few times in TAR history that the first and last have swapped places.

YES YES YES YES YES!!! I hate when I have to miss the play by play but thank goodness the Cowboys are still in it!!!! Sad Dad/Daughter are out (Carol/Brandy can get off my TV any time now please), but that was a stoopid move getting out of the cab. Never never never get out of the cab when they tell you its just 5 minutes away. That never works. And it looks like they weren't even going to the right place to begin with. :duh:

Looking foward to the previews for next week when Brent/Catie do something to Carol/Brandy to tick them off. :EVILLE:

Interestingly enough, the entire leaderboard was flipped exactly upside-down from the previous leg.

Continually, the only team that I can't stand are the duhtectives. I can tolerate Brent & Caite for the sole reason that I can laugh at their expense. As long as they don't win, I won't mind them lasting until the end.

Love, love, LOVE the cowboys, the brothers, and Carol & Brandy. All 3 of them just have me in fits of laughter week in and week out. I know I'm massively in the minority regarding the lesbians... but I wouldn't mind them winning at all.

Sad to see Steve & Allie go, but they had just about the roughest leg we've seen anyone have all season long.

I admire Steve and Allie's stamina. After all of that hiking around, they seemed to get through the steps at the Detour pretty well, ditto for the brothers...

I'm meh on Carol/Brandy. I don't like how much they usually complain... They weren't as annoying this week.

I like the Duhtectives, but my opinion dropped a little when they made the comments are Brent/Caite as their kids. Duh???
Looks like Brent/Caite send Brandy/Carol on a extra task (yield?? - what Joe/heidi had to do), not sure the name, but it was said tonight.
I don't like Brandy/Carol - but the hating by the other teams makes me hope they stay a bit longer.
Bummed about Steve/Allie - they seemed nice and ok racers.
None of these teams seem that outstanding compared to other seasons.
As long as models/lesbians don't win, I think I am ok, probably cowboys my first choice.

:cheer::cheer:Cowboys ! I love how confident and upbeat they are.

:duh: I couldn't believe it when Steve and Allie and the brothers both got out of their cabs.

Brent and Caite need to get over their obsession with Carole and Brandy but either team can leave my screen anytime now k thx.

If I were the waiting team member on that roadblock, I so would have waded into that water just to cool off.

Oh, so backtrack question because to me it was not clearly definied or said during the show.... Is it really a rule that since Steve/Allie did not go back and get their bags before checking in at the pitstop that they were not permitted to go get them during the 12 hour layover because racers are not permitted to leave the checkpoint area once they check in? Or did they simply say "screw it" and never went back to get them? And looking at the time between first and last (3 hours I think), I think they woulda had time to go get them since they knew exactly where to go. They would not have been first, but I think they still woulda checked in before the Cowboys.

So hypothetical ... lets say Steve/Allie were still in it and next week they went to like the mountains in Austria or someplace freezing. Would they have been provided winter clothing by the producers if they did not have enough money to buy parkas, pants, boots, sweaters, etc? Is there a contingeny for something like that happening? Or are you just screwed if something like that happens and you can't complete any of the tasks due to not having the appropriate clothing, so you are just out?

When the Steve/Allie interviews start appearing, please post them because I'm really intrigued by the whole 'we left our bags behind' saga. Did the producers at least collect them and give them back when they got eliminated?

I'm almost 100% certain that once a team checks in, they are not permitted to leave the parameters of the pit stop. So if they wanted their bags, they would have had to have gone back and got them while they were still racing.

I don't like Carol and Brandy, but I really dislike Brent and Caite constantly calling them "The Lesbians". And it's not like it's done in a matter-of-fact type way, like say, "The Blondes" or "The Frat Boys". It's said with a level of implied distaste that I find offensive. That being said, I do cut Brent and Caite a little slack in some of their other outbursts because I think they are young and immature. I read that they bent the rules for Caite and she's not even 21. I hope that in ten years, they look back on footage of this race and are embarrassed by some of their behavior.

Sorry to see Steve and Allie go over such a stupid decision. "5 minutes" is one of those estimations that people say that can mean anything. I just wish they had given the flags detour more effort.

Did the Brothers inadvertently steal the Cowboys' cab?

This was great episode in that things really could have wound up very differently at any one time. It wasn't just one of those straightforward "do the task and go" episodes. Lots of cab drama and silly decisions.

Yes, seriously, this "the LESbians" this "the LESbians that" ... ugliness. While the term might be a descriptive for the pair, and it's been used by all of teams on occasion (maybe not Little Brothers), Team Idiot use it so harshly and with such disdain that it's jolting. If it was a racial term being bandied about like this, there would be some uproar.

The Mean Girls obviously dislike the idiots ... a dislike that should be much worse after viewing these episodes. :angryfire

And who the heck hires Brent for modeling gigs? Heroin chic clothiers? The guy looks like an unholy cross between a meth head and starving mole.

:cheer: Great leg, Cowboys! Much chortling here when the two "decided" that Jet would do the co.conut task. [paraphrasing Jet:] "It's funny how easy it was to decide who'd do the roadblock ... 100+ degrees, humid, and unbearable ... of course JET will do it"!

Did anyone else notice that Phil had shoes on in the pit stop?

Also- I loved Cord wearing both hat's during the roadblock.

If I remember correctly, in the very first episode one of the Little Brothers just about broke a leg in his hurry to pass on the gossip to Carol & Brandy that Caite had made an idiot of herself on TV with her answer to a question (in a beauty contest?). In any case they all had a laugh at Caite's expense and I think it got to her.

This doesn't excuse Caite's attitude in return (I also think she is being immature and too vehement) and she still hasn't shown herself to be the sharpest intellectual. I wouldn't be surprised if Brent and Caite used a U-turn on Carol & Brandy.

If you're not prepared to make an idiot of yourself on TV [can't drive a stick shift (Little Brothers) or not prepared to crawl under barbwire in pretend war (Brandy)] you shouldn't apply for TAR.

    Go Cowboys! :cheer:

Amen. I don't know why some of these people go on the show when they whine and complain about the tasks. Have they not seen this show? While I would never voluntarily like bungee jump off a bridge or some of the crazy stuff they do on the show, I would do it in a heartbeat if I was actually ON the show and not even think twice about it. Just shut up and do it.

Now driving a stick would be a whole separate problem for me, but I'd at least take some lessons before the Race started. :shuffle:

    Oh, and go Cowboys! :cheer:

Yes, I was just going to write this. I remember (or I think I do!) that Carol and Brandy were making fun of Caite quite a bit early on in the season, and perhaps that's why she dislikes them so much. There's fewer teams now and so we see more of this kind of thing, perhaps. And you never know how the editing is slanting our perception of things.

Caite is pretty darn young, and Carol/Brandy were pretty cruel in mocking her on that first day about her answer at the pagent. That was a national stage embarassment for Caite and I'm sure she doesn't look at that moment with fondness. I can't say I blame her for holding a grudge, especially at her age.

BTW, I thought at the time that the media was cruel for making a big deal of it. Poor kid.

WOO HOO for the Cowboys! :D I am wanting them to win the whole thing at this point.

Favorite Cowboy comment: "I'm not really craft-y."

I loved that episode (even though I had to watch it online today). Glad the Little Brothers squeaked by, although I was a bit sorry to see Dad and Daughter leave.

The "models" cannot get off my screen fast enough. :scream:
