I figured it must have been God's will.
I am so glad they weren't able to bat their eyelashes or otherwise cute their way out of the speeding ticket.
Me too. And I think we saw more of their real personalities when one of them snapped "thanks alot" as they were driving off to the police station to pay their ticket. For me they have mostly been "on" for the cameras as I'm sure they are quite aware of the potential for becoming fan favorites, etc. As killer fatigue sets in, we could see more of their bitchy side.
I cracked up when they showed the policeman waving at them and saying "thank you, have a nice day" as they drove off.
I don't know that they ever had much potential for it, but I would agree that they showed up ready to assume that mantle*.
* Pretty much anyone who goes on a reality show thinking they will be a fan favorite is going to fail. America's Sweetheart or whatever isn't something you can calculate. it's who you are
I read somewhere that Jen and Caroline formed their singing act from a non-aired reality show--the premise was to be a relative of someone famous. Or something like that. The other member of their trio (I'm too lazy to look the name of their group up) is Loretta Lynn's granddaughter. So they are very much aware of the fame game and are def in this to be america's favorite team ala Jaymes & James last season. So far, its not happening and I agree, you can't force America to love you. That has to come naturally.
I like country music and their songs aren't great but they aren't bad either. They play their own instruments.
I guess my thought is that the fatigue based 'bitchy' personalities aren't necessarily their 'real' personalities vs camera ones. They are their tired personalities. In real life, I don't have a camera following me, but I do filter for people. I mean, that is what being a member of society is. Even if I'm annoyed at someone I put on a pretty face and try to be nice. When I have had a rough time at work and very little sleep, that is harder to do. I guess I don't buy into the 'on camera' personalities too much- TAR is way to involved to remember to keep up an act. Any 'face' they put on is probably the normal one they put on everyday to not be a total bitch to everyone when they are stressed. Doesn't every sane person do that?
Noticed on the opening credits that one of the sights shown is
the new Titanic museum in Belfast
Wonder if they'll be going there.
What I know:
The race goes to Scotland and Northern Ireland at the end of the season but I haven't seen anything that there is an actual task at the Titanic museum. TPTB could have just put that in the intro as "look how nice this is".
I was just checking twitter to see if TAR was going to start on time when I remembered that it's not on tonight.
Interlaken is one of my very favorite places in the world. Too bad they are just going to through it on a train.
I'be always wanted to visit Switzerland. It looks beautiful.
Did the jackass newlywed guy give the finger to the people who missed the train? Why were his hands blurred out? Or were they?
I don't have my glasses on.
His hands were definitely blurred but I think that was too the camera for viewers benefit, not at the people. So one tiny step less assholey
Yeah his hands were definitely blurred. I don't get why he would gesture like that in that particular moment. But okay...
And we have the return of Whine-ona and meeeeeea Chuck.
Chuck should shove Whineona off the Eiger. Or trade her for the dog.
Based on his comments, I think he considered it.
I would be completely freaked out by the roadblock. My teammate would have to be good with heights and eating gross food.
Eta: Jennifer made it look so easy.
PML "If things go wrong, I promise I won't marry for the first month."
Chuck is so. but so.
Why did Meghan have to wait for wynnona? I thought two could go at a time. That wait must have sucked.
Wow. Bates and Anthony were efficient with that cheese!
I miss the cheese randomly rolling down the hill.
If something freaky happens and Bates and Anthony don't win, I'll be I'm sitting here LOL at the cheese just thinking about Wynonna climbing to the top of the hill. (((Chuck)))) if this isn't a NEL
I aspire to be a cheesemeister.
This version did seem much easier.
The snow made that much easier than the last time.
Once Dave got injured and Connor left the race, Bates & Anthony went right to the top. The only thing that has held them back were two bad legs with cab problems--Bali and Vietnam. Since then its been very impressive for team Hockey!
