So we know he doesn't scare easily.
Smaller players can be very competitive (especially at that age) if they have a strong core and excellent (hockey) skating skills. I suspect that was the case with Aaron. My son was always one of the smaller players, but he could easily take out (check) someone twice his size.
Then you'll appreciate this:
Hmmm. Max is five foot eight? Is that like Yagudin being five foot eight?
Max just seems like a really little guy.
Would have been HILARIOUS to see him pull out a jump in the middle of a game though!
His official bio says 5'7". If you look at this pic of him between Charlie & Ross (both 5'9"), there's not a great height difference.
Re: the WTT2013 short program:
I think he actually could be about that height. He and Josh Farris look very much the same height here https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...2712564.-2207520000.1365745374&type=3&theater, though Max's shoes may be a bit higher. Josh I believe is 5'8"? (Wikipedia says 5'10.5" but um maybe that's his height in skates? ) Max just has short legs and a long torso, and a very small frame, so he looks smaller. I always think Farris actually looks tall but it is clear from this picture he certainly is not (he just still has bambi legs).
Anyways small people can be really good at hockey. My friend in highschool currently plays division 1 hockey in college and she's about 5'1" and 110 pounds but all muscle. The other girls dwarf her for the most part but she's so fast, strong, and agile it doesn't matter. I would assume Max is the same way. He's definitely ripped!
True; Max does not have a "dancer's body" (i.e. short torso/long legs), so he appears shorter than he actually is...and he is ripped!
I'm very proud of the way Max fought through this whole WTT2013 competition. He seems a bit fatigued at the end of this season, but he put in a pretty solid SP, and a good FS (good come back after the fall on 2nd triple axel).
I can't wait to see what he does next season. He said he's working on the quad toe; wants to try to include it plus 2 quad sals and 2 triple axels in his FS.

Good on Max to be involved in some shows. Now he can buy more suits!

That's a nice suit which can go with any shirt colour. Why was he wearing brown shoes?
Gracie looks great in pink. Reminds me of a recent musical/concert I watched .... Legally Blonde! Where's Bruiser?
Probably in her gold hand-bag:

They'll "be skating in "Ice Dreams" in Oakland, Calif., with Max Aaron, Johnny Weir and Samantha Cesario."

He's a golfer...maybe they're his golf trousers...one can only hope!
Max posted this lovely, inspirational message on Facebook:
In addition to the June 2nd show in Oakland, Calif. (mentioned above), Max also will perform in the May 11th "Ice Dreams" show in Jamestown, NY: http://icedreamstour.com/2013/04/18/national-champion-max-aaron-joins-ice-dreams-cast/

Max's Facebook post was just so lovely, so touching. It just says so much for him that the very first thing he does is apologise to his fans for taking so long to post it!
In reply to Max's Facebook message I say, "thank you, Max, for allowing some of us to take that journey with you!"
