Tuning in for the first time this season... I have no idea what to expect other than wanting to kick Mia in her organic rump.
ETA: Cat is as stunning as ever.
She's pretty toned down this year. You might be surprised.
Ooo, Cat is shiny tonight, like elegant tin foil. I need that dress.
Melinda needs to go just because Bollywood and Genies don't match.
So are they going to criticize Ashley for "drawing" contemporary again? Because that will really anger me.
That promo piece was really uncomfortable. This does not compare to Travis/Benji nerdom, but it was cute. This is the first time I've really liked Adechike in something. He looks like he is "having fun."
I'm new to this show and I saw last week it was mentioned All-Star Lauren was disliked by a lot of fans. Anyone know why?
I kind of like that. Adechike is kind of a cool nerd!
She's not very good? She was over hyped on her season and made it much farther than girls who were better than her? Those are my reasons at least. Oh! Also she's kind of annoying. And once stated in one of her preview packages that she likes to pretend to be Asian. Or had an Asian persona. Or something.
I really didn't get the point of that choreography. It didn't do it for me. Or maybe the music didn't do it for me.
That's the first time I have really enjoyed Adechike outside of a solo...and I kind of...kind of, thought Lauren was pretty good too
I want Cat's dress so much, I would wear it every day. I couldnt wait for badlauren and what's his name to be done so I could see it again.
Lauren is the Saliesha Stowers of SYTYCD.
I know the judges all loved that, but I was sort of meh about Adechike and Lauren.
Whose assistant was Lauren? I can't remember....but if I remember right there were high expectations of her because of that, and she never quite lived up. Many fans are still scratching their heads at how she got on the show to compete the first time. And now she's back??
....except Saleisha won, and Lauren didn't (thank the goddesses)
Did I miss something? Why is Billy dancing a solo?
She was Tyce's assistant, and that should have quelled any hype right there
Are they doing solos tonight?
Didn't take long for me to remember that I hate flaily-contemporary.
And Ade is back on forklift duty...but I did like that routine.
I recognize that Ashley is a great dancer, but she has the charisma of a wet dish towel, and is invisible next to Ade.
I like Ashley last week but i don't think she looks much different than last week. If they are tired of seeing contemporary from her, give her something else! I did like it though.
For some interesting Tyce being Tyce, try watching "Every Little Step".
Actually, SYTYCD fans should watch it, I bet most will find it interesting. It's a documentary about the casting of the re-staged "A Chorus Line".
I loved that contemporary from Ashley. What was that song by Florence and the Machine? LOVED that.
These may not be the greatest dances ever on the show, but I've enjoyed these dances more than anything last week.
Judging from her critique, Mia smoked some seriously potent herbage before tonight's show
Are they drawing out Ashley's compliments as a time filler? It was her best performance, true enough, but Mia was just nauseating. It wasn't that great, was it? Ade outdanced her--totally.
I liked Adechike- I thought he just glowed in this number and Lauren was not annoying. And it's nice to have one all-star that the contestant can outshine.
Yes, it appears that they are doing solos tonight.
Ashley and Ade dancing to Dee Caspary's choreo. Cosmic Love by Florence and the Machine.
The judges love it. Mia is very definite that Ashley is her favourite girl this year.
I thought it was nice, but for me it felt like they were dancing choreo, not feeling it...
And the hyperbole begins again! That was not one of the best contemporary performances in the past 7 years of this show.
