Korea Times article: Olympians to Visit Korea for Ice Show

Performers include: Evan Lysacek, Evgeny Plushenko, Stéphane Lambiel, Jeffrey Buttle, Mao Asada, Joannie Rochette.
    Dates: June 5 & 6, 2010
    Venue: Jamsil Gymnasium in Seoul

I believe it's an IMG show, which is why Yu-Na Kim is not participating.

ETA: Sorry, I didn't see the earlier thread before starting this one. Thanks for the merge!

    Thanks for sharing!

    :D

Seems like a small ice show, considering the number of participators, but I'm sure it'll be great!

I'm sure this isn't the whole cast. I wouldn't be surprised if Sasha was in this show. She told a friend of mine in Cleveland that she was doing some Shows in Korea (among other places) this summer. And since she is an IMG Olympic medalist this is probably the show she's doing. Unless she expected to get asked and wasn't.....

Ice Age 3 tour will be end in May, so I think skaters will be able to participate in other shows in June.

Alexei performed in Super Match in Korea every year.
He is an IMG Olympic Gold Medalist and has big fans in Asia.
Hopefully he will be added in the list:)

I'd heard something awhile back about "Stars on Ice" having Korean shows. Anyway, I'd like to be at Plush/Evan's first rehearsal together. :saint:
(But why did the North American SOIs seem to get the fewest reigning Olympic medalists of any of the tours this year?)

Oh, and boy some of these skaters travel a lot. I know that this season JoRo's had a bunch of ice shows and GPs in Asia. And I assume that some of the Asian skaters are back and forth to NA almost as much. I wonder if SOI pays for business class. :p

Just sounds weird to have an ice show in Korea and not have Yuna. It's like having a basketball star tour from China and NOT have Yao Ming.

This is an IMG show. Didn't you know the relationship between IMG and Yu-Na?

The show is not for the skating fans but customers of Hyundai Card, No.3 credit card company in Korea. The greater part of the seats are taken by the invitation tickets and those invited take the lion´s share.

Tickets for sale can be counted on the fingers and are much more expensive than scalper's ticket.
One more thing!! Yu-Na will leave for Toronto to train her programs at the end of May. She will not be in Korea thereabout. ;)

Heard from my friend in Korea that the organizers haven't heard yet from Yags since they've sent the invitation.

For a show that's not for figure skating fans it sure has a lot of top skaters. :)

Alexei is not confirmed yet, so they removed his name.
Hyundaicard said that they didn't get final decision from him(or management)
Alexei will be added at next week if they get answer.
Many fans asked about Alexei. (of course me:) )
I already bought the tickets, so I also hope he will come to Korea again.
    Sorry for my poor English ;

I couldn't get the official site to load, so it may be listed already, but Adam Rippon has an IMG show in Korea listed for June 5-6 on his website. Glad he's getting a chance to perform with this great cast.

Lysacek, Plushenko, Lambiel, Mao, Rochette, Miki, Virtue/Moir, Shen/Zhao, Buttle, Rippon.....Wow!!
Korean fs fans are so lucky to be able to see the gorgeous cast as long as (hopefully) their interest is not just in Yuna Kim.

This show is getting more amazing!
I wonder if IMG Japan can invite all those big stars together to a show in Japan. It may be impossible for them. Korean fans are so lucky!

Usually Dreams on Ice features Japanese skaters. It is popular because the audience can see their new programs (ex or competition programs). They invite some great guest skaters from abroad as well, but not so many as Super Match.

Oh, because I didn't know it is called Makabe show. I just thought the name is kind of funny, and I was not laughing at you, of course. We usually call it a show hosted by CIC or maybe CIC show. (not by IMG, by the way)

Here are articles about this show published on May 10th.

If Alexei will really come to Korea, we will dance happy:saint:
Hopefully they will update the official website as soon as possible.

Here is the machanical translation of the first article.

“The Legend” Alexei Yagudin will participate in the Hyundai Card Ice Show

Alexei Yagudin who is the legend in male figure skaters will perform in Hyundai Card Super Match X – Medalist on Ice which will happen the coming June.

The information has been announced to journalists on May 10th. It was said “Alexei Yagudin and Adam Rippon has been confirmed to perform in Hyundai Card Super Match”.

Alexei Yagudin led the Russian male figure skating to the top of the world with Evgeni Plushenko. They were rivals and got hearts of figure skating fans in the world. Yagudin won Plushenko, got the Gold Medal and stood on the top at Salt Lake City Olympic in 2002. After that he retired from eligible skating and turned professional in 2003.

It is remarkable the strongest rivals in eligible skating will perform in the ice show together.
