Just a reminder that NBC is scheduled to broadcast GP Final highlights tomorrow (Sunday) from noon-2 pm Eastern time - check your local TV listings to confirm the times in your area.

Words cannot express how nice it is to hear Terry Gannon's voice again in figure skating coverage....

No kidding. I'm so glad Terry's back. He and Tracy Wilson are a very enjoyable commentating team.

I know men & ladies are kind of the big ticket events in the US, but I would've much rather seen the top 2 in dance and also the pairs, which skated much better than the men, IMO.

I would expect NBC to show Davis/White's winning FD. So far Amodio has been chacked from the broadcast -- wonder if Flatt will receive a mercy chack (probably not since NBC has already shown her warming up backstage)

I don't know, i'd say the top 3 men skated amazingly here.

Thanks, Sylvia. They better show that!

Eh, Oda fell twice, Kozuka was tentative and Chan was kind of lackluster.... disappointing after the great SPs.

To each their own I guess, I loved the top 3. I thought Oda gave his best performance of the season (falls and all), Kozuka skated great (not as good as TEB, but still as swoon worthy as ever) and Chan... you say lackluster I say brilliant :p That was one amazing performance to me

But the ladies were glorious, and I'm glad that US casual fans will get a chance to see it.

i was hoping we'd get a little pink panther action too, figured they could at least show us the winners in dance and pairs....but it's looking like there's not gonna be enuf time unless they seriously gloss over Rachel.

Sincerely hope so. Not that often that USA wins gold in dance in major international comps and Davis and White deserve to be seen by casual fans leading up to the next Olys.

I haven't seen the competition yet so I can't wait! How often do we get such a clean comp from the ladiezzzz?

I want some Pink Panther action too. :cat:

But I guess the network feels the need to set the stage for Ladies. Makes sense, since they clearly have no interest in featuring pairs or dance ever...meh.

ugh...poor Rachel...it looks like she's just doing a practice run-thru at home. NBC has no mercy.

Rachael's issues have been well discusses, but she really should get her money back for that choreography - it's just dated and tragic.

sigh. Racheel's in betweens are totally dismal. She looks like she's skating a practice session without any intention to actually skate full out.

it went on forever (quoting Tracy) for both Rachael AND the rest of us too. :scream:

I'm really sorry :( - happens to me a lot, but thankfully not today.

I really don't get it. How can they generate interest if they don't televise the discipline? And the USA has been SO much more successful in ice dance these past 5 years than ever before; how can they build up athlete interest if they don't televise the event?

That makes far too much sense for NBC.

Okay, off the bitch wagon for now. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the top 5 ladies.

Yes, I'm excited to see all of them in HD today.

Miki's skate didn't speak to me yday AM, but it did on the broadcast - ditto for Kozuka.

Duh, didn't know this was on until now. Was going to drive up to the rink for synchro but the weather is iffy. Haven't gotten to see Akiko's skate yet. Yea for Jewish Japanese programs! You can't help but root for Akiko, knowing what she's been through and seeing how excited she always seems to enjoy skating.

I love watching Akiko Suzuki. So much joy in her skating. She looks like she truly loves to skate and skates for no other reason. :respec:
