    Social Attitude Test

    My Results:

    Radicalism 77.5
    Socialism 31.25
    Tenderness 50

These scores indicate that you are a moderate progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a university professor. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a pragmatic attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear capitalist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as libertarian.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, an egalitarian with few strong opinions.

This concludes our analysis; we hope you found your results accurate, useful, and interesting.

I found this interesting, though many of the statements were quite flawed: heavily loaded, ambiguous, or dated. I mean, "'free enterprise' is another way of saying 'exploitation of the workers'" and "young men with long hair" -- seriously? Or loaded terms such as "flip-flopped" (32) and "exploitation of the workers" (4) -- are you supposed to respond to the substance or to way in which those terms are currently used & abused by the media?

Regardless, though, I'd probably agree more-or-less with the "results" (tho I tend to see myself as somewhat less radical and more socialist -- and I'm a little fuzzy on the meaning of the "tenderness" quotient!).

    Radicalism 94
    Socialism 62.5
    Tenderness 56.25

These scores indicate that you are a progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a university professor. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a pragmatic attitude towards humanity in general.

well its about time we had a quiz!

This seems more political than social to me. Hmm I guess I didn't copy the numbers.

I'm not getting what they mean by radicalism anyway.

I got exactly the same analysis, with scores of

    Radicalism 94
    Socialism 31.25
    Tenderness 46.875

I would posit that I'm a lot more radical than Kasey and substantially less "tender"!

This summation made me roar with laughter - as would anyone who knows me. Idealist, definitely, but few strong opinions? I don't think so.

A lot of the statements were very poorly worded.

Hmm, I'm not really sure I agree with this analysis. Like others have mentioned, the use of certain terms isn't clear and some statements were rather inflammatory. Still, it was a quick and fun test.

My results were similar to several others here:

I would disagree that I'm skeptical towards religion, and I think that result has more to do with the way the questions were phrased. I would consider myself accepting of all religions, and think people have the right to subscribe to whatever faith they choose. I think where the discrepancy arises in the quiz is because while I think people have that right, I don't personally have a "blind faith," so to speak, and seek a balance (and some overlap) between science and spirituality.

If I had taken this test 10 years ago, I guarantee it would have said I have ONLY strong opinions. :D

I got an 99 point something in radicalism, mid fifties in socialism, (that would be a failing grade among my set, and land me in very deep sh-t. should my true identity be revealed) and low fifties in tenderness. Then they said I was probably a university professor - which is not all that far off, and an idealist- not so much. I cannot imagine which questions led to the tenderness evaluation. It can't be right in PeterG's case, since he is so generous with Rep points.

Just checked back on the questions on the quiz. I think they've confused tenderness with sentimentality, and while I quibble with "girls" being used as a perjorative, PeterG rules!

And there's me thinking I was special. Peter, you'd probably appreciate this bit of humour, - even if off topic, next time CBC or CTV shows the Quebec assembly - re the current infamous bill - check the Cruxifix above the Speaker's Chair. It was still there yesterday.
